Where do you put Ryan Murray from CBJ?

  2. Marc-Olivier Fortier 2016-04-04 at 14:06

    Ryan Murphy rank?

How come Hanifin barely makes the list while from Beaulieu at 53 down thru Nesterov at 81, there are about a dozen other older prospects/rookies he has outplayed as an 18-year old?

    • Dobber Sports 2016-04-04 at 18:57

In the lower 50 the weight of team-influenced variable is more pronounced. It’s a weakness of my formula, sorry. But don’t overrate Hanifin – elite real hockey player, limited fantasy hockey player. I think Beaulieu has more offensive upside, for example. +/- 5.0 are considered equal value, so Nesterov isn’t above Hanifin at all (but he is an oversight who should have been adjusted downward)

      • isle b. 2016-04-04 at 19:43

That’s fine but Hanifin is a better offensive hockey player now than, say, Griffin Reinhart will likely ever be. He also looks better than Nurse, for that matter (another player who projects to be a better “real life” hockey player than a fantasy player) or Koekkoek, a player who is 3 years older and has less points in the AHL than Hanifin has in the NHL.

        • Dobber Sports 2016-04-04 at 21:43

I definitely agree about Reinhart, and I’d rather have Hanifin than Koekkoek for sure

Where do you put Mike Green from Detroit? Again this year, 40 points!

  5. Marc-Olivier Fortier 2016-04-08 at 12:54

Lots of requests for rankings of players sub top 100. Worth doing a top 150 next month?

    • Dobber 2016-04-08 at 13:12

Ha after the Top 50 I don’t really like this ranking. Player values are so close between players 51 and 150 you couldn’t slide a piece of paper between them. I’d rather reduce this to a Top 50 than grow it. Too many arguments! lol

Where does John Scott rank? ;)
