Top 200 Fantasy Prospect Forwards in Fantasy Hockey – April 2016

The Top 200 Prospect Forwards to own in fantasy hockey, April edition. Big shakeup here, lots of movement…

Here are this month's top prospects to own in a points-only keeper league. Taking into account the organization depth chart, wait time, upside and NHL certainty. "Type" is measured by offensive/offense-small/power forward/two-way. Because every player in the Top 7 from last month was graduated this month, Toronto's William Nylander was able to take over top spot for the first time. Graduated players (from last month – other players such as Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid were graduated in February and January respectively) are listed at the bottom.

Always appreciate the biggest movers chart. Dal Colle and Connor are on express rides this month. In opposite directions. Thanks for the great rankings.

Odds Dvorak makes a splash with Arizona next season?

    • number54 2016-05-01 at 15:19

I think it depends what happens with Doan and Tanguay. If those guys re-sign with the Yotes, I think Dvorak’s chances decline dramatically. Plus, if you think about it, it’s in their best interest not to bring up an offensive stud like Dvorak unless they think they can give him the kind of minutes he needs to succeed. So yeah, if there’s a sniff at a top-6 spot, I think he’s good enough to grab it. But, if the Yotes bring in some veterans, it’ll be entirely because they want to push the kids down for one more year before the NHL expansion becomes a concern.

Curious why Goldobin dropped so far, I considered picking him up in my keeper league.

    • number54 2016-05-01 at 15:14

It might have to do with Timo Meier leap-frogging him on the prospect chart. I mean, I don’t make these rankings, so I’m just guessing, but don’t get me wrong, I think Goldobin’s a great talent. It’s just that Meier just has such a polished 2-way game that he’s a better bet to make the team in a grind-line capacity. Plus, the Sharks just don’t have much room to bring in any more prospects and with the possibility of an expansion looming, they might be best served keeping the kids down for a year.

No Jared McCann from Van ?

    • Dobber Sports 2016-04-12 at 17:55

He graduated from this list this month. I forgot to add the graduates, I’ll do that now.

  5. Cam Robinson 2016-04-18 at 10:10

Get excited for Brock Boeser to climb these rankings in a hurry, everyone. He’ll be coming out of school after next year and has the chops to be an impact player in the bigs.

    • number54 2016-05-01 at 15:11

I’m really hoping Caggiula signs in Vancouver too. I think that’s a 1-2 punch the Canucks can take advantage of within 3 years.
