Top 100 Keeper League Defensemen – November

Dobber

2016-11-03

The Top 100 defensemen to own in your points-only keeper league, November edition.

As always, these are pulled from the full Top 300 skaters list (the two right columns indicate their ranking in that Top 300) that was posted Wednesday (click here to see the Top 300 skaters). These are for points-only leagues and combines both one-year and long-term potential, as well as proneness to injury and usage (i.e. ice and PP time).

Players within 5.0 ratings points are considered equal in trade discussions – that means Julius Honka (76) is not really "higher" than Mark Streit (100). When two players are within 5.0 then it would come down to your need and your opinion (youth/proven /risk/injury/ immediate/long-term/ etc)

why is Jones above Werenski? Clearly Zach is already the best dman for the CBJ and is the clear offensive catalyst.

Very clear, after Game 8. Do you make a lot of these decisions after Game 8? Not one-year decisions, but multi-year decisions?

      • Vladimir Blutin 2016-11-03 at 13:18

yeah i do actually. this one’s a no brainer.

          Great! Good luck man

Yeah, just to be even more clear (lol)… I think Werenski’s move up the list is accurate and realistic for now. But also feel that maybe Jones’ ranking could be justified to take a larger hi, as it looks like management believe Werenski is the offensive weapon to eat up the PP minutes for years to come, which could devalue Jones a bit from before. Nonetheless, love your work, great insights. No sarcasm.

Thanks, I agree Jones should start fading, but they can coexist (he can be the Pietrangelo to Werenski’s Shattenkirk). He’s still only 22

Keeper league, should I trade subban and a late pick for klingberg and a 1st round?
