    What about Troy Stetcher ?

    • Dobber 2016-12-07 at 14:44

Is it his 26-point pace that attracts you, or his rugged good looks? ;)

  2. Tom Collins 2016-12-02 at 16:59

Still no Streit? Tied for 17th in points for defencemen and on pace for 40-plus points. Granted, he’s the oldest dman in the league, but still…

    • Dobber 2016-12-07 at 14:44

With no future and little help for the present in points-only leagues, I have no interest in owning him in either league that has this format (I’m in first in both – zero interest, his current points don’t help me at all).

How the hell is Yandle # 10 which is 11 spots ahead of werenski? I thought this was a list for keeper leagues. Tj Brodie blows should be way back on this list. Doesn’t shoot, don’t score goals, don’t get points, bad in plus minus. Should put more effort into rankings

    • Dobber 2016-12-07 at 14:43

And you should put more restraint over giving players the crown after 25 games. Holy schnikies… Werenski over Yandle, eh? I’m not there yet. The needle is moving towards there, but why on earth would I trade a player who year after year gets 50 points and never misses a game for a player who could be Gostisbehere one year…and then Gostisbehere the next year? If you’re one of those fly-by-nighter keeper league owners who jumps on every Richard Panik hot streak then my lists aren’t for you. These lists are for patient owners who want to win this year and ongoing.
The rules of my lists are explained: doesn’t count shots, doesn’t count goals, doesn’t count plus/minus. Did the words “points only” lose you somewhere?

      • MasterMind 2016-12-08 at 10:28

You sure have a lot of answers for a guy that is wrong an awful lot. I won championships 8 times in the past 17 years.(With proof) So I wouldn’t call myself a fly by night keeper owner. You should learn to take criticism better. I noticed when people question something, your responses are very arrogant and cocky, like your better then people. Yandle is now 30, wasn’t good on the rangers and not great on the panthers. Give me werenski over Yandle any day especially with the big age difference. It’s actually funny because the people in my league that follow your lists, have never won anything and have a lot of rookie draft busts. Still waiting on your cocky response to Brodie being way higher then he should

        • Dobber 2016-12-08 at 11:03

I do struggle with taking criticism, but to be fair I run a popular website and so getting criticism 12 times per hour, 365 days a year can add up. So I’ve narrowed down the criticism that I take to just the polite, constructive kind. The ones that have “how the hell” in the first sentence – that kind I don’t take. If you’re used to being rude to writers because they don’t argue back, then this site may not be for you.

I’m wrong 47% of the time. My motto is that most experts are right 52% of the time – and I beat them by getting to 53%.

My cockiness is all part of the “trash talk” mentality that makes fantasy hockey so fun. It’s the image that I’m trying to convey and it’s helped to grow this site. Hell, my logo is me in shades pointing at the reader and being cocky. That’s my logo! lol it’s my identity, and it’s what’s grown the site over 11 years.

If you don’t enjoy trash talk you could always just check some boxes in the local newspaper and do your pools that way ;)

Yandle being 30 just means he’s down to three good years. The average player is on a keeper league team for 2-3 years so looking beyond that is pointless. I own Yandle in one league and wouldn’t trade him for Werenski. I own Werenski in the other and wouldn’t trade him for Yandle. Yandle was great for the Rangers after the first 10 games. And he’s been great for the Panthers after the first 10 games. Points only. Yandle has 11 points in his last 21 games. Werenski has 10 points in his last 20. WHOOPS! Better move Werenski up to 10th based on his 25 career games, and move Yandle down to 50 despite his steady track record and guaranteed 82 games! lol

Brodie is so high because I’m not knee-jerking players up and down the list based on how they do in one month. Panik is 40th, now Panik is 500th, now Panik is 60th, now he’s 350th…is that how you want your lists? Panicky owners are the worst.

Geez man. Last year, someone exactly like you (was it you?) was whining about Brodie being too low! If, next year, Werenski starts off with 5 points in 25 games you’ll wonder why he’s still in the Top 20! Sounds like I can’t win with you.

in my keeper I already have Josi and Hedman on board from last season but now with rise of Ristolainen I drafted do you think I might have to start considering keeping 3 D next season? Counting hits, blocks, ATOI Risto’s value is undeniable. Came into this season with Johansen, Backstrom, Hall, Simmonds, Voracek, Josi, Hedman, M. Jones….it would be hard to part with any of them but Risto has arguably been my most valuable piece so far this year and I only see him getting better.
