I'm an idiot – I posted these ramblings this morning. Trouble is, I forgot to select "publish". Whoops…here they are, several hours later…

Lecavalier, St. Louis, and Richards have combined for 20 points for TB. The rest of the team has combined for 12 this series.

Despite dressing for Game 5, Tampa forward Ruslan Fedotenko was planted on the bench, logging exactly zero shifts. Forwards Karl Stewart and Blair Jones were healthy scratches, and one of them may draw into Game 6…

Brad Richards had a 13-game playoff point streak end in Friday’s shutout loss…

Devils’ defenseman Colin White has missed the last three contests with a strained back. His replacement Andy Greene has played so well that the team will not be rushing him back. He is doubtful for Game 6.

The goal by 45-year-old [Chris Chelios] on Saturday was his first goal this year – including the regular season…

As mentioned in yesterday's ramblings, Jiri Hudler was inserted into Saturday’s lineup after being a healthy scratch for Games 3 and 4. Kyle Calder, who has struggled this postseason with no points in four games, was a healthy scratch…

Robyn Regehr, who has missed the last two contests with a sore knee, is doubtful for Game 6…

Kristian Huselius, Rhett Warrener and Brad Stuart are each tied with a team-low minus-4 rating…

Niklas Lidstrom had four helpers in Saturday’s game…

Ryan Whitney will need surgery on his wrist. It had been bothering him for much of the season. He will be fine in time for training camp and the surgery will certainly ensure that he is more productive next year.

Alexei Yashin had 28 points in 22 games. Then he hurt his knee and had 22 points in his next 36 games. It turns out that in the playoffs, he played with a broken hand. If he can be healthy for next year, a bounce back would not surprise me. Think about it – Ted Nolan had him going and it was only the fact that he played through an injury (twice) that his production plummeted. Your competitors will be letting him go for practically nothing, and in one-year drafts he will slip to the later rounds. At that price, he is worth the pick up.

Karel Rachunek will be back in the Rangers lineup for Game 1 of the second round.
