This week's injury rundown gives the latest on Burakovsky, Fowler, Luongo, Carter and many others…

The Big Guns (>75% owned in Yahoo Leagues)

Tuukka RaskTuukka Rask Tuukka Rest and seems to be feeling better. The Bruins’ goaltender is one concussion test away from being back in action, I hope he studies hard!

Cory SchneiderHe’s been skating on his own, but still hasn’t seen shots from his teammates. Although his stats to start the season haven’t been great (3.30 GAA and .907 SV%), he is 4-1 to start the season, so the Devils will be pleased with his progress.

Jeff CarterThe Kings’ forward will need a good amount of time to recover from ankle surgery. Six to eight weeks is an optimistic timetable, but keep your eyes out for a more realistic one.

Marc-Andre FleuryThe Golden Knights’ best player is getting closer and closer to return after suffering a concussion. Now only days stand between him and a return, not weeks. Until then Oscar Dansk will be shouldering the goaltending load in Vegas.

Justin Schultz – Left Tuesday’s game with a concussion. It’s always tough to nail down what this means – one week or one month or longer. But Olli Maatta’s resurgence should last a little longer with this news.

The Second Liners (40%-75% owned in Yahoo Leagues)

Kyle PalmieriAlthough we’re working with a very small sample size, it’s nice to see the Devils forward performing at a point-per-game pace (seven in seven). He’s currently day-to-day with a lower body injury, and the Devil’s bye week will give him a great opportunity to rest.

Cam FowlerExpected to miss four to six weeks with a knee injury. Fortunately, the rest of the Ducks are slowly but surely returning to the lineup.

Andre BurakovskyThe Capitals’ forward will be out for the next six to eight weeks after having surgery to repair a broken thumb. Four points in nine games is a little bit underwhelming from a former first round draft pick playing beside Nicklas Backstrom, and this injury makes him a safe drop in shallow leagues.

Roberto LuongoThe Panthers’ goaltender will be out for at least another week, but we still don’t know exactly how Luong it’s going to be. I don’t know how much we should read into the team claiming Antti Niemi, but I do know you should stay the heck away from him.

Zach PariseThe Wild forward underwent a procedure that should relieve pain caused by a herniated disk. Although this means he’ll be out for the next eight to ten weeks, it’s means he should be playing at his best when he returns.

The Depth Guys (10%-40% owned in Yahoo Leagues)

Patrick EavesOn a little more serious note, the Ducks’ forward has been diagnosed with Guillain-Barre syndrome in which the immune system is attacking the nervous system. Fortunately, the doctors caught it early and he should make a full recovery. We’re still waiting on word on what this means for the rest of the season.

David KrejciBack spasms have kept the Bruins forward out of the lineup, but it doesn’t seem to be anything too serious. He deemed his status “day-to-day” and could very well play against the Sharks on Thursday night.

Sami VatanenAlthough he didn’t play on Tuesday night against the Flyers, it’s possible that we see him back within the next three games. Vatanen thinks he’s close, but needs to make sure he’s ready for the physical toll that hockey has on the body.

Malcolm Subban – Out four weeks with a lower-body injury. Before the injury, Subban was 2-0 with a 2.06 GAA and .936 SV%… never bet against Vegas, I guess.

Antti RaantaHas been skating! As high as I was on the Coyotes to start the season, they are currently 0-7-1, so it might be a good idea to keep Raanta on the bench for a few games after he returns.

Ryan MillerSeems to have fully recovered from a preseason wrist injury, look for him to be backing up John Gibson before the end of the month.

Jaromir JagrThe ageless wonder was placed on the injured reserve list with a lower body injury. Although this does derail a fresh start in Calgary beside Monahan and Gaudreau, it doesn’t seem to be long-term.

Bobby RyanBroken finger. Out a month. I swear this has happened to him before…

Nolan PatrickThe rookie also left Tuesday’s game with a concussion. And as with Schultz, we won’t know if this is for a week or a month…until a week or a month actually passes! But he’s young so I wouldn’t expect it to be too long.

The Mr. Irrelevants (<10% owned in Yahoo Leagues)

Zack SmithHas been skating and shooting the puck, and is scheduled to start taking contact in Thursday’s skate.
