Interesting: if the Ducks get past the next round, the Oilers will get a 2008 first round pick as part of the Chris Pronger deal.

This from the Star-Tribune: "It's looking very likely the Wild will not even attempt to sign 2004 first-round choice A.J. Thelen, a Savage native, by the June 1 draft. The team, which has been disappointed with his development, has not yet contacted his representation. In exchange for losing Thelen's rights and allowing him to re-enter the draft, the Wild will receive the 42nd pick in June's draft." Thelen is ranked 227 in my fantasy prospects list…and he has been dropping steadily over the plast year.

Some of you longer-term readers may know this, and I'm sure it would come as no surprise, but I am a huge fan or Rick Jeanerette. I wish he did the Toronto games so I could be exposed to his calls more often. Anyway, I had to get my hands on the audio of his call on the Drury and Afinogenov goals from last night. Thought I would share. This is courtesy of WGR550.COM

Drew Stafford and Dan Paille were healthy scratches as the Sabres inserted Maxim Afinogenov back into the lineup and welcomed back Paul Gaustad. Afinogenov scored the OT winner, while Gaustad played under eight minutes in his first game back in 35 contests.

Taylor Pyatt, a UFA this summer, is extremely interested in remaining in Vancouver. If he plays in the season like he did in the playoffs, 60 points is a possibility on that team.
