Editor’s note: Please give a warm welcome to Cam MacDonald on his debut article with the site.

Alright everybody, I have carefully looked into the injuries of each NHL team and have compiled a list and information that I feel could be useful to some of you. Even though this is my first article, the Injury Ward is rich with history and tradition.

Any questions or feedback can be directed to me via my LinkedIn profile.

I hope this summary brings joy to your day in one way or another. Here is my weekly injury update:

Anaheim Ducks

Adam Henrique – The former London Knight has been sidelined since February 21st. He is apparently suffering from an injury to his MCL. He could be in the lineup on April 5th against Edmonton.

Jamie Drysdale – The promising defenceman is expected to miss the rest of the season with a torn labrum. He is expected to be ready for training camp.

Urho Vaakanainen -The former Bruin suffered a hip injury on January 28th. He has had surgery and will not play again this season

Anthony Stolarz – The perennial backup goaltender will miss the rest of the season after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery

Troy Terry– The former University of Denver Star did not go on the team's late-March road trip because of the potential birth of his child. However, he will be in the lineup on April 5th.

Arizona Coyotes

Zack Kassian – There is unfortunately no timetable for the rugged enforcer's return.

Jake Voracek – The former Flyer and Blue Jacket is unlikely to play again because of concussion issues.

Boston Bruins

Taylor Hall – The former NHL MVP has been skating in a non-contact jersey for the past few weeks. There has been speculation that he is being held out of the lineup because of salary cap reasons. However, this is being denied by the team's head coach, Jim Montgomery.

Patrice Bergeron – The Bruins captain has been resting nagging injuries, but is expected to be in the lineup when the Bruins play the Maple Leafs on April 6th. The two teams could potentially see each other at the end of the month, when it all counts!

David Krejci – The oldest member of the Czech Mates has been held out of games because of injury, not simply for rest.

Nick Foligno – Marcus's brother has not played since February 28th. He is expected to be back at some point during the Stanley Cup Playoffs

Buffalo Sabres

Craig Anderson – The oldest NHL player is currently injured and the Sabres have two young goalies that need experience. There are potential rumblings that Anderson will finish his career by playing April 13th, against the Ottawa Senators.

Calgary Flames

Oliver Kylington – The Flames have stated that they don't expect him to play this season. He has missed the year for personal reasons. We hope to see him play again next year.

Carolina Hurricanes

Ondrej Kase – Kase only played one game this season before suffering a concussion. The team doesn't expect him back this year.

Max Pacioretty – Unfortunately "Patches" will be out for the season because of a re-torn achilles injury.

Andrei Svechnikov – Mr. Svechnikov is targeting next season for a return after tearing his ACL.

Teuvo Teravainen – The former Chicago Blackhawk is dealing with an undisclosed illness.

Chicago Blackhawks

Philipp Kurashev – The skilled winger is finished for the season because of a shoulder injury.

Colorado Avalanche

Gabriel Landeskog – The captain remains hampered by a knee injury, but is on the California road trip with his teammates.

Cale Makar – The Reigning Norris Trophy winner missed the team’s April 3rd game. Although the team has stated that Makar has a lower-body injury, nothing I've read seems to indicate the aggravation of any previous injury between the contest on April 1st when he finished the game, and April 5th.

Pavel Francouz – The backup goalie is in California with the team. Indications are that he could play sometime soon.

Josh Manson – The rugged rearguard is nearing a return and could play during the team’s west coast swing.

Artturi Lehkonen– The diminutive forward is wearing a red jersey and isn't expected to play until the end of the month. He is currently dealing with a broken finger.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Jake Bean – Interestingly enough, Jake Bean has a torn Labrum, just like Jamie Drysdale. He should be healed from surgery by training camp in the fall.

Zach Werenski – If you thought a torn labrum would be the worst-case news for a Norris Trophy candidate to hear, think again, not only is Werenski dealing with that particular issue, he is also dealing with a separated shoulder. He should be ready to go by next season.

Patrik Laine – The second pick of the 2016 NHL Entry Draft is currently out with a tricept strain. His initial timeline would mean a return between April 7th and April 21st.

Elvis Merzlikins – The best Latvian goaltender since Artus Irbe, is facing a day-to-day obstacle at the moment. I of course mean the injury, not the awful team in front of him.

Dallas Stars

Mason Marchment – It is doubtful that Marchment will return before the regular season schedule concludes, but he might be a good to go for round one of the playoffs.

Detroit Red Wings

Filip Zadina – The prolific junior sniper, is yet again out with injury. Reports indicate that he could potentially not play again this campaign.

Marco Kasper – After recently participating in his first NHL contest, Kasper is hurt. However, he could be in the lineup on April 5th, according to his coach, Derek Lalonde.

Edmonton Oilers

Ryan Murray – Murray is injured again and this time it is his back. He has never put up many fantasy points, but did the one guy who is drafted ahead of him (Nail Yakupov) really have a better career than Murray? 

Florida Panthers

Sergei Bobrovsky –  The Vezina Trophy winner from years past was scratched, due to illness, on April 3rd. He could see action on April 5th, as he was a game-time decision on April 4th.

Sam Bennett – There is the potential for Sam Bennett to see action on Saturday. This is essentially playoffs for the Panthers, so if he can play, he will play.

Los Angeles Kings

Gabriel Vilardi – The big forward remains out. It is such a shame to see a guy with this talent miss so much time.

Kevin Fiala – The Swiss superstar has missed nine of his team's last 12 games. He is so important to this Kings team that they have to be focused on getting him healthy for the playoffs.

Minnesota Wild

Kirill Kaprizov – The Russian is the MVP of the team by far, He apparently will return next week. The Wild have plenty to play for and Kaprizov, drastically improves their chances to win the division.

Montreal Canadiens

Kirby Dach – The self-proclaimed "Dirty Kirby" is out until April 9th for sure. He has been injured a lot throughout his young career. I am sure the Canadiens will be careful with this one.

Nashville Predators

Roman Josi – The Nashville captain missed his 10th straight game on April 3rd, but his team is still winning. He is believed to be extremely close to returning to action.

Matt Duchene – When your finger gets severed from your hand by a slap shot, it is a safe assumption that you won't be playing hockey anytime soon. It Is expected to be a few weeks until Matt returns at this point.

New Jersey Devils

Curtis Lazar – It doesn't sound like Lazar is close two returning, based on wood Coach Ruff has told the media, but we will see how far New Jersey gets in the playoffs. It is possible that Lazar will be healthy enough to contribute, if New Jersey can make a deep run.

New York Islanders

Mathew Barzal – The Islanders star resumed skating in late March, he has been injured since February. It is an uphill battle for the Islanders, especially if they play Boston in round one. However, if Columbus can beat a Tampa Bay team that many thought was one of the best ever, anything can happen.

Ottawa Senators

Thomas Chabot – The recent injury for Chabot essentially ends his season, since the Senators are no longer within striking distance of a playoff spot.

Philadelphia Flyers

Carter Hart – It's a day by day injury for Carter Hart. He will likely be playing again by the end of the week.

Seattle Kraken

Oliver Bjorkstrand – Much like Troy Terry, Bjorkstrand is awaiting the birth of his child. He will likely be back with the team in a few days.

St. Louis Blues

Robert Thomas – Thomas was a game-time decision on April 3rd, according to the Blues Head Coach Craig Berube. He will likely play in the team next game.

Pavel Buchnevich – The power forward remains out for the Blues, his date of return is unknown at this point.

Toronto Maple Leafs

Ryan O'Reilly – The big trade deadline acquisition had his finger broken when it inadvertently was struck by a shot. He participated in the morning skate on April 3rd, so it is only a matter of time before he returns the lineup, possibly next game.

Matt Murray – The goaltender left his last start after sustaining a head injury. Due to his previous injury history and the sensitivity around head trauma, there is no timetable for his return.

Vancouver Canucks

Filip Hronek – The midseason acquisition played in four games before sustaining a shoulder injury, which has prematurely ended his campaign.

Vegas Golden Knights

Mark Stone – Stone started skating last week and could potentially come back if the Golden Knights make a deep playoff run. Stone last played on January 12th, before he had back surgery on January 31st.

Shea Theodore – The tower of power remains out with an injury. Theodore hasn't played since March 28th, against the Edmonton Oilers.

Logan Thompson – The early-season favourite for rookie of the year has run into injury trouble. As a result, The Knights decided to bring Jonathan Quick into the fold at the trade deadline. Thompson is now skating and is very close to returning. It will be interesting to see how the goaltending situation is managed this close to playoffs.

Winnipeg Jets

Cole Perfetti – Recently, Winnipeg Jets coach, Rick Bowness, intimated that Perfetti, is probably behind the optimistic eight-week timetable that was originally full cast regarding his recovery.
