Marco Rossi was out for the Minnesota Wild on Monday night as the team was in Philadelphia. It doesn't seem too serious but something to monitor. The Wild have one game left on their road trip – Wednesday in New Jersey – before they head home for a back-to-back on the weekend.

Minnesota would go on to win their game in New York against the Rangers by a 3-1 margin. Danila Yurov got his first goal of his NHL career, jamming home a rebound off a wrap-around attempt:

There isn't much fantasy value here – he still skated under 11 minutes in the game and has yet to reach the 11-minute mark in any game this season – but a good moment for the rookie. If Rossi has to miss any sort of extended period, maybe Yurov can work his way up the lineup, but that is another conversation for another day.

Jonas Brodin scored his first of the season to get the party started for the Wild while Kirill Kaprizov added the insurance marker on an empty net. He now has five goals, five assists, and 28 shots in seven games on the season.

Filip Gustavsson was stellar in goal, stopping 22 of 23 shots for the win. That leaves him a shade under the .900 mark for his save percentage on the season.

Artemi Panarin scored the lone goal for the Rangers. They have just 16 goals in seven games this season, and six of those 16 goals came in a win over Pittsburgh.

Igor Shesterkin allowed two goals on 31 shots for the loss.

Jared McCann was not in the lineup the Seattle Kraken on Monday night. For a team already without Kaapo Kakko, Frederick Gaudreau, Ryker Evans, and Brandon Montour (personal reasons), this is a big hit to a team that relies on its depth more than it relies on star-power.

Berkly Catton made his NHL debut with all the forwards now missing from the Seattle lineup. He assisted on a first-period Jordan Eberle goal to register his first career NHL point. Catton played just 13:49 but was fourth among the forwards in even-strength ice time – there were 10 power plays in the game and he didn't get much special teams time.

Seattle lost the game in Philadelphia 5-2 as the Flyers got a pair of power-play goals from Tyson Foerster, a pair of goals from Owen Tippett, and Travis Konecny scored his first of the season. Tippett finished the game with two goals on five shots with a pair of hits, pushing his season to five goals, 19 shots, and 11 hits in six games.

Cam York had a trio of helpers, including two on each of the Foerster goals, to go with two blocks and two PIMs. Those were his first, second, and third points of the season as he started the campaign a few games late.

Dan Vladar was in net for the Flyers and he stopped 21 of 23 shots for the win. It is probably safe to say he's the starting goalie in Philadelphia for now.

Joey Daccord was pulled after the second period, giving up five goals on 21 shots.

Stefan Noesen was again at New Jersey practice on Monday and lined up on the fourth line, according to Amanda Stein. He won't return on Tuesday, but he should be back in the lineup this week. It will be interesting to see if he gets put back into the top PP role he had for long stretches last season.

Jonathan Marchessault was not at Nashville practice on Monday, according to Max Herz. He was not in the lineup on Saturday, so hopefully this is nothing too serious, but we'll wait until we hear more. In that game on Saturday, Nick Blankenburg took Marchessault's spot on the top PP unit. No, really. He did. For both power plays!

In that same practice, Luke Evangelista was moved to the top line with Ryan O'Reilly and Filip Forsberg. Steven Stamkos was moved to Marchessault's old spot with Michael Bunting and Erik Haula.

After some flip-flopping to start the season, it looks like good news for Matthew Schaefer and his power-play role with the New York Islanders:

Of course, things can change fast in the NHL, but the Islanders power play has looked miles better with Schaefer at the helm than it has for… I dunno, a very long time. Last call to double-check waiver wires as his ownership on Yahoo is under 75% and ESPN is around 66%. He is likely gone, but it never hurts to look.

The Florida Panthers have ditched their 3F/2D top PP unit, at least for the time being:

That is a pretty good position for Mackie Samoskevich to be in, if they PP can get going – they do have 6 PP goals in 7 games, but are averaging nearly 4.5 opportunities per game, so their PP conversion rate is actually under 20%, or about the middle of the league.

Jake Walman was activated off the IR by Edmonton on Tuesday. The Oilers have four games this week, but they're on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, and Sunday. Someone might want to pick him up off waivers for the Sunday game but most fantasy managers will have a tough time getting a lot of value out of him this week.

Mark Stone is going to be out for a little while with a wrist injury:

The good news is that with the NHL's new playoff salary cap rules, the Vegas Method of stashing players on LTIR until the postseason so they can have a cap hit like 10-15% over the actual salary cap is no longer a thing, so however long Stone is or isn't out is irrelevant in that respect. The bad news is that is that an in-season wrist injury that will keep a player out for weeks is not a great sign for the rest of the season, regardless of when they return. Hopefully he can come back and be at full strength but there's no guarantee that will be the case.

On Monday night, Brandon Saad took Stone's spot on the top line while Shea Theodore was moved to the top PP unit.

Vegas, without Stone, managed a win at home to Carolina by a 4-1 score. Ivan Barbashev had a goal and an assist while Pavel Dorofeyev, Jack Eichel, and William Karlsson all scored. Dorofeyev had that goal on four shots, a block, two PIMs, and a hit in a great multi-cat night. He is still on his goal-per-game pace and shooting 33.3%.

Adin Hill started the game but got injured 10 minutes in and had to leave. It looked like something with his left leg but there was no update as to what it was, or how severe it was. Look for an update there in the next couple of days. In his place, Akira Schmid stopped 22 of 23 shots for the win.

Sebastian Aho scored the lone Hurricanes goal. Aho now has two goals and nine points in seven games and is on a six-game point streak.

Frederik Andersen gave up three goals on 25 shots to take the loss.

On Monday night, Jakub Dobes got another start for Montreal, and for the third time in his three starts, he got the win for Montreal. The Canadiens were hosting the Buffalo Sabres on Monday night and took a 4-2 win, pushing the team's record to 5-2. Dobes stopped 29 of 31 shots he faced, and he now has a .938 save percentage in his three appearances. With the slow start Sam Montembeault has had, and a back-to-back in Alberta on Wednesday and Thursday, Dobes is going to get at least one, if not two more starts this week.

Oliver Kapanen, Juraj Slafkovsky, Lane Hutson, and Jake Evans had the goals for the Habs. Slafkovsky had a nice stat-stuffing night with the one goal on three shots, a block, four PIMs, and three hits. He has three goals, 16 shots, and 17 hits in seven games.

Nick Suzuki had a pair of assists to go with a shot and a block. He is up to 10 points in seven games this season, though having just 13 shots, four blocks, and three hits means the peripheral value isn't really there.

Tyson Kozak and Jiri Kulich both scored for Buffalo. Zach Benson assisted the Kulich goal and totaled seven shots with a pair of PIMs and a hit. Benson now has six assists in three games since getting back into the lineup.

Alex Lyon was solid once again in net for the Sabres but fell a bit short by allowing three goals on 30 shots.

Connor Hellebuyck had another great performance as Winnipeg went into Calgary and skated out with a 2-1 win. Hellebuyck stopped 32 of 33 shots and registered his fourth straight win. Since allowing five goals in the season-opener to Dallas, Hellebuyck has given up just six goals in four games while posting a .947 save percentage.

Jonathan Toews scored his first goal of the season and as a Winnipeg Jet on a deflection from a point shot on the power play:

Mark Scheifele scored later in the second period and that goal would hold up as the game-winner. Kyle Connor assisted that goal and he now has nine points in six games and is on a six-game point streak to start the season.

Rasmus Andersson scored the lone Flames goal and registered six shots in total.

Dustin Wolf earned the loss in net for Calgary, allowing two goals on 28 shots. It was the first time this year he allowed fewer than three goals, so hopefully he's starting to turn things around after a very rough start.
