Conroy…Back in Calgary!

The Calgary Flames reacquired Craig Conroy in a trade that sent Jamie Lundmark, a fourth-round pick in 2007 and a second-round pick in 2008 to the Kings. Calgary: Gets Jarome Iginla's favorite centerman back, while not really touching their roster.
Los Angeles: Gets a decent third or fourth line player who can play any position up front and is still young enough (at 26) to still have some upside. More importantly, the Kings got two great picks for a player who was really too old to be a part of any rebuilding plan.
Fantasy Players Impacted: This obviously helps Conroy, but if you are a Conroy owner – take advantage of the hype and trade him while you can. Daymond Langkow is entrenched in that No.1 spot, and Matt Lombardi has proven capable of No.2. Conroy is an insurance policy in case there is an injury up front, nothing more. His production will improve, but not by a lot.
Jamie Lundmark will get some ice, but I doubt he will pan out fantasy-wise. Really what this says to me is that Patrick O'Sullivan has himself a roster spot. They may move him back to center on the third line. There is a risk that Lombardi will lose a bit of power-play time at first, it all depends on the coach. If Playfair loves his vets, then Conroy will steal some PP time. If he loves his youngsters and wants to help shape their careers, then it will not have an impact on Lombardi. He is still too new for me to get a real good read on him (plus, since they are out west, I have only seen them play a handful of times this year).
