Top 120 Keeper League Defensemen – September 2026

Dobber

2026-09-02

Here are the top defensemen to own in your points-only dynasty leagues – September edition!

Celebrating the 24th – 24! – year of these monthly rankings. That’s right, this pre-dates DobberHockey, and goes back to my days with The Hockey News. Think about it – that works out to 264 sets of rankings! I was even putting out rankings during lockouts!

As reliable as it gets, you can count on updated dynasty rankings here each and every month. Because fantasy hockey values are ever shifting, and even in the summer there are changes even if we did them every week!

Not much has happened over the past month. A few tweaks, but not a lot of movement as we approach NHL training camps. Needless to say–the October version of these player rankings will see massive changes.

Before we get to it, though – my 21st annual Fantasy Hockey Guide is on sale now and fully updated! Analytics, line combos, injury notes, observations, advice and a draft list. Pick it up here. Pick up the Keeper League pack here (includes the Prospects Report). Or subscribe here, so you can grab them as soon as they’re released each year. My Top 50 Calder picks are now in!

As always, players ranked between +/-5.0 ratings points should be considered equal value and at that point become a matter of team needs or personal bias. (Note: I did not add the usual biggest risers/fallers charts because there weren’t enough players to really justify it)

Click any player name to be taken to his customized fantasy player profile page to see who his best linemates were, how often they played with them, his ice time trends and even compare him to other players with a quick click. BOOKMARK IT!
