Pierre-Luc Dubois and Aliaksei Protas led the Washington Capitals with a goal and an assist each in their 4-3 win over the Florida Panthers. Each player also finished with a plus-3.
Alex Tuch also scored for the Capitals, giving him 11 goals in 15 games. He has a very Cy Young-like line with just two assists (11-2). All of his goals have been at even strength, as he has generally appeared on the Capitals' second power-play unit. Tuch is averaging nearly three shots per game, but a 26.2 SH% is largely unsustainable and should mean that the goal pace slows down.
Could Tom Wilson be facing supplemental discipline for this hit? It might not be the worst Wilson hit of all time, but he also has a lengthy history with the league.
In spite of the loss for the Panthers, there was plenty of Tkachuk presence in this game. Brady Tkachuk scored a pair of goals, both assisted by Matthew Tkachuk. Matthew finished with three assists in this game, while Brady took seven shots on goal. Both also finished with two hits. A line with both Tkachuks and Sam Bennett, who scored the other goal Matthew assisted on, has plenty of grit as you might expect. Also plenty of scoring, as both Tkachuks are scoring at over a point-per-game pace.
With an assist on Saturday, Seth Jones also continues to be over a point per game. Jones has already reached 20 points in just 17 games. Injuries have forced Jones to miss at least 10 games over each of the last four seasons, so that might be the biggest challenge for Jones.

Two frequently-searched players on Frozen Tools who played in the Nashville Predators/St. Louis Blues game:
If moving Mavrik Bourque up to the top line and the top power-play unit doesn't get him going, then nothing will. Bourque has been on the top line with Steven Stamkos and Ryan O'Reilly as well as the top power-play unit this week. Bourque registered an assist on Stamkos' goal in the Predators' 3-1 win over the Blues, breaking a five-game point drought. Bourque still hasn't scored a goal in 13 games, though. The Predators are one of five teams to play four games next week, so Bourque (4% Yahoo, 32% Fantrax) might be worth a gamble.
Dylan Holloway hasn't recorded a point in three games and hasn't scored a goal in seven games. However, he contributed six hits and two blocked shots on Saturday. Holloway has just three goals in 17 games and should see positive regression thanks to a 7.7 SH%. However, seven of his nine assists are secondary assists, which won't help his assist rate going forward. Holloway is on a 59-point full-season pace, which seems about right.

In his New York Rangers debut, Joonas Korpisalo made 25 saves to earn a 4-3 win over the Seattle Kraken. Korpisalo, who had been sidelined with a lower-body injury, should battle rookie Dylan Garand for starts with Igor Shesterkin out for the season. To make room for Korpisalo, James Reimer was placed on unconditional waivers after appearing in just one period for the Rangers (allowing three goals).
Berkly Catton extended his point streak to eight games. Catton contributed two assists on Saturday, giving him 10 points over his last eight games. When I searched for Catton on X, I came across this old post. How would you re-rank these players two years later? I think Catton could be a bit higher. So could Beckett Sennecke. (I didn't make any of these picks, by the way, because I traded mine away. It was #12.)
Joey Daccord probably shouldn't be trusted in fantasy leagues right now. Daccord was pulled after allowing three goals in the first period. With scoring up in the NHL, many goalies have a goals-against average of above 3.00 and a save percentage below .900. That used to be the bar, so to speak, and maybe it still is in shallower formats. But Daccord's goals-against average is now dangerously close to 4.00. Kevin Lankinen is the only goalie with a higher goals-against average with as many games played (9).

The Carolina Hurricanes are the defending Stanley Cup champions. The Chicago Blackhawks are a team whose rebuild has stalled. That was on full display on Saturday where the Hurricanes dominated in a 9-2 win.
Sebastian Aho led the Hurricanes with a goal and two assists, giving him five points and a plus-7 over his last two games. With 10 goals and 26 points in just 19 games, Aho is on the best pace of his career. He has some advanced stats that suggest some regression, including an 18.5 SH% and 68.8 Sec. Asst. %. Aho has been consistent, ranging between 67 to 89 points over the last five seasons. He is also not much of an injury risk, playing in at least 75 games over each of those five seasons.
In his first game of the season, Alexander Nikishin scored a goal and added an assist. Nikishin was on the top power play, but so was Shayne Gostisbehere, as the Canes opted for a 3 F – 2 D formation in their one power play. Nikishin's delay to start the season was due to the fact that he was unsigned, and it is believed he has asked for a trade because he is unhappy with his role with the Canes. As a result, don't be surprised if the Canes grant him healthy portions of power-play time.
Do you roster any Canes? The only Carolina skaters not to record at least one point in this game were Jalen Chatfield, Mark Jankowski, and Jaccob Slavin. Eight Canes players had multipoint games, including Jordan Martinook and Andrei Svechnikov, who each scored two goals.
Something to keep in mind for Carolina and Seattle: Both teams now head to Helsinki, where they will face each other for two games on Thursday and Saturday. These games are great for NHL marketing worldwide, but they’re less than desirable for fantasy scheduling purposes. Something to keep in mind if you roster players from either team next week and the week after. Once the two games finish next week, the two teams are off again for another four days while they travel back and try to reset their internal clocks. Seattle plays just four times total over the next two weeks.
Spencer Knight was pulled after allowing six goals on 17 shots. Knight has allowed at least four goals in each of his last three games.
In spite of the Blackhawks' woes, two players in particular are still scoring. Connor Bedard finished with a goal and an assist in the whitewash loss, giving him 14 points in 12 games. Rookie Roman Kantserov scored a goal, extending his goal streak to four games and his point streak to eight games. They seem to be the two Chicago players that you can count on right now.

Miro Heiskanen was out of the Dallas Stars' lineup for a second consecutive game on Saturday. Thomas Harley was able to take full advantage of the opportunity, scoring a goal along with two assists – all on the power play. The Stars have one of the league's better power plays (27.5%), so a shift from Heiskanen to Harley on the power play doesn't seem likely once Heiskanen returns. But it is worth mentioning that Harley has 5 PPP this season and Heiskanen has just 3 PPP. Harley has averaged 1:19 of power-play time per game, while Heiskanen has averaged 2:58 of power-play time.

Alex Newhook's two first-period goals were the difference in the Montreal Canadiens' 4-2 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs. Newhook now has five points over his last five games.
Morgan Rielly left this game in the second period with a lower-body injury. Despite losing his role on the top power play to recently signed Darren Raddysh, Rielly entered this game with eight points over his last seven games.

Nikita Kucherov may have decided that he will not be on the Tampa Bay Lightning next season, but he hasn't quit on the Tampa Bay Lightning this season. Kucherov scored the overtime winner along with an assist in the Lightning's 4-3 win over the Minnesota Wild. Kucherov also finished the game with 20 shot attempts and nine shots on goal. Kucherov also logged 25:31 in this game.
Jake Guentzel also had a fantastic game, scoring a pair of goals while adding an assist and seven shots in 24:34. Guentzel now has 10 goals in 18 games and is scoring over a point per game.
Charle-Edouard D'Astous continues to be the player that you didn't have on your radar that has turned into a difference maker. D'Astous scored a power-play goal while adding two assists, giving him 10 points over his last nine games. Six of his 11 points this season have been on the power play, where he remains on the top unit. By the way, both D'Astous and John Carlson were on PP1 on Saturday, which has happened for the past two games. D'Astous is still rostered in under half of Yahoo leagues, if he still happens to be available in yours.
Maxim Shabanov scored two goals for the Wild, one of which was on the power play. I discussed Shabanov yesterday, so I'll just reiterate that Shabanov is on Minnesota's top power play and may be available in your league (7% Yahoo/41% Fantrax).

More points for Colorado's top players on Saturday. In the 4-0 win over Detroit, Martin Necas scored two goals and added two assists, while Nathan MacKinnon and Cale Makar each scored a goal while adding two assists.
Mackenzie Blackwood took care of business in net, stopping all 27 shots he faced. Blackwood has been getting the job done for the Avalanche, posting a 9-3-1 record with a 2.60 GAA and .901 SV%. Meanwhile, Scott Wedgewood has struggled with a 4.02 GAA and .867 SV% in five games. Clearly Blackwood has the advantage in the goaltending situation.

Sidney Crosby and Tommy Novak each scored twice in the Penguins' 5-2 win over Los Angeles. Novak went dry for awhile with no goals in nine games, but he has heated up recently with four goals and six points over his last four games. He is also back on the Penguins' top power play, so now might be a good time to add him (10% Yahoo/36% Fantrax).
–
Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl each had three points in the Edmonton Oilers' 4-2 win over the Vancouver Canucks. With 47 points in just 18 games, McDavid is currently on pace for 219 points, which would break Wayne Gretzky's single-season record of 215 points. Has Mike Babcock unlocked a new level for McDavid? This is something to watch. I think the term “cheat code” gets overused, but that’s what McDavid is in fantasy hockey right now.
It wasn't all good for the Oilers, though. Ryan Nugent-Hopkins left this game early in the second period after being struck in the head by a puck.
The Canucks might be in 32nd place, but it's not all bad fantasy-wise for this team, particularly for Brock Boeser, Filip Hronek, and Elias Pettersson.
