Miller discusses the Hurricanes, the Tavares line, Subban and more...
Last season, the Carolina Hurricanes finished last in arguably the weakest division in the NHL. They were aggressive during the summer and went out and got Jordan Staal, sending promising Center Brandon Sutter to Pittsburgh, plus they also signed unrestricted free agent Alexander Semin. The Hurricanes took a large financial risk signing the enigmatic and oft-injured Russian to a one year, $7-million contract, but it is paying off handsomely for both parties involved.

Well we’ve been getting better every week so let’s keep the momentum going into this Saturday. Based on the McLaren-Dziurzynski (very easy to spell for us Poles) scrap on Wednesday night, I wonder how much longer Saturday will be alright for fighting.
The DobberBaseball Fantasy Guide is available and fully updated - fantastic work by Chris Goudey and the gang. * Some afternoon updates - Tim Sassone is reporting that Marian Hossa, Andrew Shaw and Michael Frolik will all be in the lineup for the Blackhawks. Which is good because this is a "must win" game for [...]

Dobber Investigates the role of advanced statistics in fantasy hockey
Elliotte Friedman posted a column Wednesday night on the increased use of advanced metrics in the NHL. In it, he opines that different teams have been using their own statistical measuring tools for the last several years, not just for evaluating how to use players, but how to pay them. Advanced stats are also starting to play a role in fantasy hockey.
