Eastern Edge

The goal of covering the Atlantic division before September has been accomplished. Unfortunately all of the digital ink that I am about to spew on the Ottawa Senators can promptly be thrown out the window once/if Erik Karlsson is traded.  I had hoped that by avoiding the Senators up until this point that something [...]

As a hockey fan you have to be pretty excited about the consolidation of power underway in Toronto.  Adding John Tavares to a top line superstar in Auston Matthews has Toronto in a position to have the second-best center combination in the league; still not touching Malkin and Sid. Sorry I won’t debate it [...]

The interweb is filled with draft prep advice, some of the best advice I’ve ever read fell in this article by Steve Laidlaw.  I’ve tried drafting goalie / goalie to start and have placed well in 14 team leagues, I’ve tried the early D approach through the first four rounds, and I’ve loaded up [...]

Following up on the theme of draft prep for fantasy, I was reminded and thought it was worth forwarding on to the Dobber community that it is important to not get tied to one specific stat or even one specific player that you think will be prolific this season.   If you’ve been reading my [...]

It’s bubble time in the East. These are the players that you should be targeting in your keeper league redrafts and depending on the depth of your league the players that if you already own them you should take a second look at before dismissing them off your squad. Only eight more days until [...]

It feels like we are all sitting around waiting for the Erik Karlsson proverbial shoe to drop. I’ve been trying to tailor my team previews to teams unlikely to make splash moves that remarkably change the fantasy makeup for the upcoming campaign.  So this week we’ll go with a team that didn’t provide all [...]

It was an exciting free agency period with Tavares moving on to his boyhood team.  You can check out the recaps of all the moves in our section on fantasy impacts here.  I’m counting down the days until the 2018-2019 Dobber Fantasy Guide is released on August 1st.  Dobber will have you covered as [...]

I’ve sufficiently exhausted most of the advanced stat metrics I could throw at you this summer, but don’t worry, we’ll keep revisiting them and hopefully as promised wrap everything up come draft time with ADP values.  Now it’s time to switch gears and start looking at each team in the East, we’ll take a [...]

It pains me every year to start looking at goalie stats, picking goalies is notoriously difficult.  Do you hate picking goalies so much that you’ll sacrifice a first round pick on Carey Price just so you can set it and forget it? Right, and then last season happens are you’re sitting there with the thoughts [...]

Chris Kane has started the summer series off for the Western Conference – I recommend checking out the Anaheim article.  Nothing better than stuffing your lineup with a couple Anaheim players to reap the off night schedules.  In order to find out which team has the best off night schedules you should be chomping at [...]
