Goalies Proving Their Worth

 Turco

Poolies tend to shy away from goaltenders that fall on their faces in the postseason. Even if their pool does not have a separate playoff element and goes strictly by regular season statistics, for one reason or another, weak performers in the playoffs fall in value.

DobberHockey.com Experts – Round 2

Stanley Cup

Impressive. That's an understatement, when describing the boys at DobberHockey.com. Individually, some were good...and most were average. Collectively, we were a force.

In the first round, the DobberHockey.com panel went 7-1 in their prognostications, only getting the Ottawa/Pittsburgh series wrong - but it was close, as three out of seven of us chose Ottawa.

Below...our thoughts on Round two.

Playoff Potpourri

canucks - stars

It’s a good thing the NHL set up their playoff format in such a way that once one team beats another team four times, the other team is unable to compete again in the tournament. If it were somehow possible for the Canucks and the Stars to play each other in rounds two, three and four things would be quite boring in playoff pools.

Most NHL playoff drafts did not involve a heck of a lot of participants tripping over themselves to try to pick up some Tampa Bay Lightning players, but those that did manage to ‘settle’ for some in the latter rounds are pretty happy.

While the rest of the group in your playoff draft set upon the Buffalo Sabres players like a pack of wolves, did you quietly load your team up with Dallas Stars?

Not a bad strategy.
