Interested in expanding your sports writing portfolio? Look no further. The Dobber Sports Network welcomes up-and-comers who are passionate about their work and driven to succeed. Get your foot in the door and join the extended editorial staff today.

Dobber Sports is looking to expand its editorial staff with positions open for the postings below. Please note that these are all entry level positions designed to bring experience and exposure, as well as fulfill a sports' fanatic's dream of having his/her opinions out there for all to see. While some of these positions could lead to paid work, not all positions will. However the best of the best certainly use this experience and the exposure to thousands of readers to take another step forward in their career. We have had paid and unpaid freelancers and management join the likes of The Score, Sportsnet, WHL Scouting, International Scouting Services and many other multi-national companies after their time with Dobber Sports. The following positions are currently open:

 

January 17, 2018 – DobberProspects Writer/Scout Intern (Waiting List)

Responsibilities:

Applicants chosen for DobberProspects will be responsible to conduct research for scouting reports and produce player profiles. Other duties may be assigned from time to time such as following up on player progress.
 

Qualifications:

Experience (past or current) in online sports journalism. Preferred, not needed.
Must be actively participating in fantasy hockey leagues, preferrably a keeper league.


Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of prospects, and junior leagues in general.
Creative and proficient writing/editing abilities.
Ability to submit a consistent quantity of quality work.
Previous experience a plus, but not mandatory.

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated (i.e. we don't want to chase our writers to get an update if a prospect is traded/injured/honored/etc)
Willingness to stay on top of the latest prospect developments, especially during the NHL entry draft.

Perks:

Upon achieving the status of Senior Writer, you have the option of getting a press pass for local junior and/or AHL games. As well as the option of writing (paid work) in the annual Fantasy Prospects Report.

January 17, 2018 – Goalie Post, Featured Writer (Waiting List)

Responsibilities:

Applicant chosen for Goalie Post will be responsible for writing and submitting weekly or twice-weekly articles with a focus on fantasy hockey goaltenders (i.e. "Goalie Ramblings").

Must be actively participating in fantasy hockey leagues and have a passion for the game (both fantasy and reality).

Qualifications:

Experience (past or current) in online sports journalism. Preferred, not needed.

Required Skills:

Strong knowledge of NHL goaltenders, particularly when it comes to fantasy hockey, and hockey in general.
Creative and proficient writing/editing abilities.
Ability to submit a consistent quantity of quality work.
Previous experience a plus, but not mandatory.
Willingness to stay on top of the latest hockey news.

January 17, 2018 - Fantasy Hockey Geek Customer Service Co-ordinator (Available)

Responsibilities:

Applicants chosen for DobberProspects will be responsible to conduct research for scouting reports and produce player profiles. Other duties may be assigned from time to time such as following up on player progress.

 

Qualifications:

Vast experience with the Fantasy Hockey Geek selection of tools
Must be actively participating in fantasy hockey leagues, preferrably a keeper league.
Friendly demeanor and online eloquency are musts

 

Required Skills:

Understanding what each of the FHG tools do and how to manipulate them as needed.
Reliability during key time-sensitive dates is a must.

Ability to work independently and be self-motivated.
 

Perks:

This is a paid position during the key busy months. "Off" months may include the need to respond to one or two tickets, which would be unpaid. Other duties may include more compensation.
