Fantasy Impact: The Buffalo Sabres have signed winger Brian Gionta to a three-year deal worth $12.75 million bones.

The Sabres get: the leadership and experience they were after. Gionta, at this point in his career, is a reliable 15-goal scorer who should post 40 points regardless of his role.

Fantasy Players Impacted: another winger signed to drop Marcus Foligno down the depth chart. While Gionta won’t be a staple on the power play – he may not see much at all – he’ll still see ‘some’ and that takes away from the other wingers such as Foligno, Drew Stafford, Chris Stewart and Brian Flynn. Any chance Luke Adam had of making this team is now pretty much gone.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk.
