The Top 200 Prospect Forwards to own in fantasy hockey, March edition. Nylander takes over…

 

Here are this month's top prospects to own in a points-only keeper league. Taking into account the organization depth chart, wait time, upside and NHL certainty. "Type" is measured by offensive/offense-small/power forward/two-way. Because every player in the Top 7 from last month was graduated this month, Toronto's William Nylander was able to take over top spot for the first time. Graduated players (from last month – other players such as Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid were graduated in February and January respectively) are listed at the bottom.

    How far outside of the top 200 is Kiril Kaprizov? A certain other prospect prognosticator recently ranked him as the 14th best prospect outside the NHL.

      345th. Wait time=4 years, upside=low 70s, NHL certainty=60% due to KHL factor. In fantasy hockey in most deep leagues I wouldn’t consider him this summer unless/until I hear that he’s coming over. Or even signs a contract

    Colin White is seriously underrated. Should be a Top 20 prospect just like in real life

      If he’s not in the NHL next year or the year after, then no he shouldn’t be a Top 20 fantasy prospect. I agree he is underrated though, but wait time is extremely important – you could test (and possibly rule out and drop) two other prospects in that roster spot while you’re waiting on the guy.
