Big Bert a Red Wing
Dobber Sports
2007-02-27
Looks like GM Ken Holland of the Wings is all talk – he did pay the price after all, landing injured power forward Todd Bertuzzi from the Florida Panthers – wonky back and all – for a draft pick and prospect Shawn Matthias
Panthers: receive a conditional draft pick (that could be a first rounder) and Shawn Matthias, a big prospect with a decent touch around the net. He has decent potential as a power forward but is years away.
Red Wings: add a question mark. He could be one-third of the most dominant line in the NHL (with Datsyuk and Zetterberg), but he is still battling that back injury.
Fantasy Players Impacted: Danny Cleary, when he returns from his knee injury, will find himself on the third line. Lang will play with Calder and Holmstrom, which leaves nobody to play with Cleary. His points will suffer. As will Holmstrom's.
