Cristobal Huet has been medically cleared to play. Halak will remain the starter until he loses one game, in which case Huet will take over. Aebischer…well, he's out of the picture now.

John Madden is expected to return to the New Jersey lineup tonight.

Penguins prospect Kristopher Letang was named CHL player of the week after the rearguard had four goals and four assists in two games for Val d'Or during the QMJHL playoffs. He makes a great pickup for next season as I would expect him to debut with 35+ points as an NHL rookie, with more to come later. On a team like Pittsburgh, the sky is the limit for him.

Denis Gauthier (wrist), Scottie Upshall (shoulder and pectoral muscle), and Mike Richards (shoulder) won't play tonight. Each is in significant pain, and Gauthier said he was not sure whether he would play the remaining five games after tonight.

Philly's Riley Cote expects to fight someone in tomorrow's game against the New York Rangers. There will likely be continued fallout from last week's Todd Fedoruk-Colton Orr fight.

As TSN reported, and I supported, Rick DiPietro does indeed have a concussion. Like I figured, the team is just buddy-buddy with Newsday and had them print a story debunking TSN's report. He did not make the flight to Buffalo last night and is, in my opinion only, done for the year.

Gary Roberts should be back in the lineup tomorrow night against Toronto. He had missed the last game with a bone bruise after taking a Crosby shot off the knee.

Dion Phaneuf missed last night's contest with flu.

Kyle Calder after having put up 10 points in his first 8 games as a Red Wing has been held off the score sheet in his last six games. Todd Bertuzzi on the other hand finally got on the board with his 2 assists in last nights game, his first points since October 11th of last year.

After going 20 straight games with points followed by five straight without, Paul Stastny picked up a pair of assists last night.

Steve Sullivan has decided to stay off the ice for awhile. It is his hope that steering clear of any skating will help his back heal quicker. He has missed 16 games now and I would now say that he will miss the rest of the regular season.

Rob Blake missed last night's contest with a strained neck. Jack Johnson made his debut anyway, and was a minus-1. I still activated him in the ICE Expert League as I make the charge at TSN.ca and Rotoworld in the homestretch. That's right, I sit third, but my team is finally healthy heading for the final 10 days. I benched Doan and Recchi and activated Hemsky and Radulov. I also activated Pronger and Johnson and benched Brent Burns and Jaroslav Spacek.

Dave Scatchard's season is over due to his concussion. No big fantasy loss, although the Scatchard family is probably troubled by the news…

Niklas Backstrom gave up two goals in two shots last night and got the hook.

Jeff Carter has six points in his last two games. He has been logging loads of ice time since Forsberg left and it would not surprise me if he had his breakout year next year. He will have one, though, mark my words – be it next year or the year after.

JP Dumont has 63 points which is already 10 beyond his previous career high. He once had 46 points in 19 QMJHL playoff games and I had high hopes from him, but this is about what his upside is right now – mid to high 60s.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
