I got a hold of the pictures of Calgary's 2008 game jerseys. I took the liberty of posting them in the Dobberpics section, if you want to have a look…
The Isles state that Yashin will not be bought out this summer, so plan accordingly.
The playoffs had just begun when the Islanders learned defenseman Sean Hill was appealing his suspension for the use of performance-enhancing substances. The appeal was denied the night before Game 5 against Buffalo.
Sergei Zubov ended up missing last night's contest and the injury was a sports hernia.
DobberHockey.com panel: 7-1 in Round 1.
The line of Chris Kunitz, Teemu Selanne, and Andy McDonald combined for four points in the first round. Ryan Getzlaf has been leading the way for this team.
Scott Mellanby will hold a press conference this morning to announce his retirement.
Corey Schneider has accepted an invitation to be one of the three goalies for Team USA in the World Championship.
Paul Gaustad is skating and is ahead of schedule but is not expected back in Round 2. Look for him in Round 3.
Tomas Holmstrom is day-to-day with an eye injury after Calgary's Craig Conroy hit him with his stick at 6:44 of overtime in Detroit's 2-1 series-clinching victory
Jere Lehtinen did not tally a single point for Dallas in the seven game series. Stu Barnes led the Stars in scoring.
Sergei Kostitsyn had 80 points in the second half for the London Knights and feels that he has the talent to crack the Montreal roster in the fall right alongside his brother. His star has certainly risen and he was just off my top 200 prospects list last month. He will crack the list next month.
Doctors say that there does not appear to be any long-term damage to Steve Sullivan's back. However, they are having difficulty finding the source of the problem. He will remain off of skates throughout the summer, until it is 100%.
With Paul Kariya, Peter Forsberg, Scott Hartnell and Kimmo Timonen all UFA's this summer, it says right here that the Preds will hang onto Kariya and Timonen, but will lose Forsberg and Hartnell. Watch where Hartnell winds up because he could be a 70-point player somewhere else.
