Ducks

With Round 2 about to begin, here are some things to keep in mind when deciding which players to select…

Vancouver gave up eight goals in their last six games, even though they lost three of them. It is safe to assume that they will significantly slow down the Anaheim attack. If you are in a pool where you can select players by round, it will be wise to steer clear of Ducks for this round…

If you must choose an Anaheim forward, don’t look to the line of Teemu Selanne, Andy McDonald, or Chris Kunitz. The three of them have combined for three points in five games so far. Ryan Getzlaf is the only really productive forward, with five points…

Despite getting just over 30 seconds of power-play time per game, New York rearguard Fedor Tyutin has five assists in four games. Tomas Pock, Michal Rozsival and Paul Mara each garner more ice with the man advantage, but have less points…

Of all the starting goaltenders in the second round, Evgeni Nabokov of San Jose has the worst save percentage, coming in at .902…

Both Joe Corvo and Tom Preissing have averaged more ice time on the power play than fellow Senators rearguard Wade Redden this postseason…

Ottawa’s Mike Comrie is having a great playoff and he is being rewarded with more power-play time. He sits just behind the team’s “big three” in ice time with the man advantage…

New Jersey’s Andy Greene makes a nice dark horse. He is getting over two minutes per game of power-play time, has two points, is a plus-4 and could certainly pick up a point for every two games that he plays…

Farm Report: After a nice season in which he posted 74 points in 69 games for Providence of the American League, Boston prospect David Krejci has six points in four postseason games. The 21-year-old (he turns 21 on April 28) has second-line NHL potential with an upside in the high-60s. He could make the team in the fall, but one more AHL season is more likely.
