It is no secret that the power play is the most important element of offense in the playoffs. This makes the participants of the power play the most fantasy worthy in terms of playoff pools. Defensemen who quarterback the PP actually see their production rise by as much as 40 per cent. This makes moving them up your draft list a no-brainer. Today, FPL will take a look at the Western Conference quarterbacks. Wednesday I will take a look at the East.

Andrew Ladd missed yesterday's game with food poisoning.  Petr Prucha was a healthy scratch last night. He is a bit of a risk for your playoff pool. Chris Campoli left last night's game with a sore foot. Matt Schneider missed yesterday's game with an injured elbow. The flowers are out, the birds are chirping, and the beers are being chilled.  Playoff hockey is every hockey fan’s favourite time of the year.  Can’t beat watching multiple hockey games a night, hanging with your friends and enjoying a cold one.  This year in the West looks to be potentially the best hockey since the Vancouver Canucks improbable run during the 1994 Stanley Cup.  From Nashville right through to Calgary, every team looks to have a shot at earning the title of Western Conference Champion.  Let’s break down each team – four this week and four next – and certain players to keep a close eye on for your playoff pools.
