Vancouver recalled Brandon Reid from Manitoba. If ever they need a boost in offense, it is now. This could be Reid's last chance to show his stuff and he'll have to do it with minimal ice time.

Joe Thornton has an assist in seven straight contests.

Kyle Calder played less than four minutes last night and the Detroit media is speculating that Jiri Hudler will replace him in the lineup soon…

Tomas Holmstrom returned to the Detroit lineup last night and scored the game's opening goal on, you guessed it, the power play.

Shane Doan has offered to step down as Team Canada's captain. Essentially, that is the same thing as offering the babies their bottle. Whatever then will Jack Layton and Gilles Duceppe do to get their precious headlines? Damaging a man's career based on hearsay, clearly for their own political gain disgusts me. Oops, there I go again, I'll shut up now.

TSN is reporting that Russia and the NHL have a transfer agreement. The NHL and IIHF have a new transfer agreement and Russia has reportedly signed. If true, you can draft and trade for Russian prospects with more confidence now.

Paul Gaustad has been cleared to play for the Sabres for Game 5.

The Oilers have signed Andrew Cogliano to a three-year entry level contract. I would expect him to play a year in the American League first, but with the Edmonton struggles to score of late, one never knows. Cogliano currently sits 60th on the fantasy prospects list, but this news will shoot him up the ranks quite a bit, because he is forgoing two years of college.

Ruff has stated that Maxim Afinogenov will be back in the lineup for Game 5. Dan Paille will likely sit, but it is unknown who will sit for Gaustad.

Anaheim rearguard Ric Jackman is ready to get back into the lineup after missing all the playoffs with back spasms.

Florida future rearguard Colin Murphy picked up three points yesterday at the Worlds, and prospect Jonathan Toews added three assists in Canada's 5-4 victory. Toews will be an NHL star very soon, while Murphy is a good dark horse to garner 45 to 50 points next year for the Panthers.

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
