Marc Staal was named the OHL's top defenseman. He should make the Rangers next year, giving us three Staals in the NHL.
The Montreal Gazette is reporting that both Sheldon Souray and Andrei Markov are expected to remain in Montreal. Preliminary discussions have been had and both players are wanting to stay.
Rob Schremp underwent surgery on his knee and will be on the shelf for six to eight weeks. He will be fine for training camp.
Chris Kunitz scored his first goal of the postseason last night.
Todd Marchant was back in the lineup and played just over 10 minutes. His ice time will rise throughout the course of the series and his production will eventually replace what Sammi Pahlsson is doing.
Is Todd Bertuzzi done? He played 9:49 and was a minus-1 last night. Only 48 seconds on the power play. I think he's done for the playoffs, in terms of impact and production.
Brett Lebda was back in the lineup last night.
Kyle Calder played just 4:01 in the game.
Ottawa has never won the first two games of a playoff series.
Mike Comrie has been resting between games due to an undisclosed upper body injury. He has just one assist in his last seven contests.
The Flyers signed Scott Upshall to a two-year contract. He had 13 points in 18 games once he joined Philly. He is a bit of an injury risk, but if healthy could top the 60-point mark next season.
