Check out Bugg's Blog in the forum. Matt Bugg is in Columbus and will detail what he sees and hears as it happens all week long…

The Canes re-signed Scott Walker to a three year deal.

Giguere and Burke are talking contract and both parties want him to stay. However, if the price tag is too high, Bryzgalov will be No.1 in Anaheim and Giggy will be No.1 someplace else (which is my personal guess).

Nashville has signed Jerred Smithson to a two-year contract.

As speculated a couple of weeks ago, Scott Niedermayer is considering retirement. He should have enough awards, etc to get into the HOF if he goes. It would be a big blow to some fantasy squads, as losing a player in his prime for nothing always is.

The Edmonton Journal is speculating the the Oilers are setting their sights on Brian Rafalski and Roman Hamrlik, if the Dick Tarnstrom thing falls through.

Alexei Yemelin, rumored to be on his way to Montreal in the fall, will be staying put. He signed a deal with Ak Bars Kazan of the RSL.

Evgeny Artyukhin has signed with Avangard of the RSL for next season.
