Dobber's Fantasy Hockey Guides have been emailed out. Enjoy!

Sean Avery's decision has finally come down. $1.9 million.

Those that missed yesterday's announcement re: the DobberHockey Expert League, it is in the Forum under "Site Announcements"

Still nothing on the Sean Avery arbitration ruling.

Montreal rearguard Pavel Valentenko had an impressive development camp. He will spend two years in the AHL before making the jump and becoming a hard-hitting NHLer who may get as many as 30 to 35 points one day.

SPECTOR is reporting that three teams are interested in signing Stephen Weiss to an offer sheet, as there is a large gap between what Weiss wants and what the Panthers are offering. The Oilers have given agents lots of ammo and clearly Weiss' agent is using it. Weiss is too much of a Band-Aid Boy to receive a big offer sheet from someone. That said, I do really like him as a fantasy player and would love to see him play even 75 games this year.

As I said here last week, the Martin Gelinas signing has officially pushed Nashville over the salary floor. The team still has eight rearguards on one-way contracts though, so expect a small deal that will bring in a forward of similar salary.

The Avs have signed 2004 second-round pick Victor Oreskovich. Ranked 298 on my Fantasy Prospects List (and rising with this signing), Oreskovich is a power forward coming off a near point-per-game season for Kitchener of the OHL.

Marcel Hossa's agreement yesterday was for $780,000.

DobberHockey.com set new monthly highs…for July? Not exactly a hockey hotmonth, but regardless, the site had 458,449 page views and 101,889 unique visitors. I always post my monthly stats in the "About Us" section, in case you have never checked out that page. May as well stop keeping DobberHockey a secret from your opponents – they probably already know!

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
