Dobber Sports

2007-08-17

If you buy a pool guide any time after 1pm (EST) Friday until 3pm Sunday, it will be emailed to you after 4pm on Sunday. I'll be away for a couple of days, sorry for the inconvenience.

TSN is reporting that Markus Naslund has called Forsberg to convince him to join the Canucks. Regardless of whether he succeeded or not, Forsberg will not make a decision for at least 13 weeks.

The Devils have re-signed Paul Martin to a three-year deal. Apparently, a 26-point defenseman is now worth nearly $4 million. It's like a salary cap has made Lou Lamoriello stupid (Mogilny, McGillis, Malakov, Martin – hmmm…maybe it's just names that start with 'M'). Martin is young and has great potential, but he should have stepped up last season and he didn't. What happens if he repeats last year's numbers?

Pool guide news – the second edition will include team-by-team goals for vs. last year. I also have a few other ideas sent in by you guys that I will implement so the great guide you already have will only get better. Second edition will be emailed out on September 21.

Some Dobber-swag news – several new products are available, including DobberHockey ball caps, the T-shirt in a new color, and a tank top for the ladies (my wife's request). Also, a couple of price reductions. Check it out…

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.

Keeping Karlsson: Short Shifts – New Year News
