Dobber Sports

Any FANTASY HOCKEY GUIDES that are ordered will be emailed to you at 7am EST Wednesday.

Since no other site has announced the Blues' latest cuts yet, and I had a lot to say on them, I put it up in article form.

In Roberto Luongo's conference call today he stated in no uncertain terms that he would retire from hockey the day the NHL switches to bigger nets. Even if the nets only increased by two inches in size.

In an early game, the Florida Panthers topped the 'Hawks 3-2. Cory Murphy had three assists and logged 18:29 of ice. He's the real deal fellas. Look for 45 points this year with upside.

Well, the Zherdev at center experiment has fizzled to a close. He is back on the right wing. Hitchcock says the move was due to the emergence of Kris Beech and Jiri Novotny. Watch Beech's role over the next week or two, it seems promising.

As expected, the Rangers have placed Darius Kasparaitus on waivers for the purpose of sending him to the minors, despite the fact that he is actually in pretty good shape.

Michel Ouellet was back practicing with the Lightning yesterday, but did not play in the game last night. Jan Hlavac did play.

With Dan Boyle on the shelf, it will be Paul Ranger and Brad Lukowich who will skate together. Filip Kuba and Shane O'Brien will be the No.1 shutdown pair, so take note of those roles.

What was originally thought to be back spasms for Lightning C Ryan Craig turned out to be a herniated disc, and Craig is out indefinitely.

Tuomo Ruutu left Sunday's game in the second period with a sore knee. The team is saying it is very minor, but you can't help but think "here we go again".

The Isles/Rangers played a fight-filled contest. If you were looking at our forum last night, one reader had instructions on how to watch the game online. When these two teams play in the regular season – get on board if your pool counts PIMs, cause there will be lots.

Mike Comrie had a four-point game and is a lock to set career highs this season. I'm liking his new situation there more and more. His linemates were Guerin and Hunter, and the line combined for 10 points.

The minor trade of Mark Mowers yesterday solidifies a spot for David Krejci and it also creates an opportunity for Petteri Nokelainen. Mowers was sent to the Ducks for 24-year-prospect Brett Skinner and 22-year-old Nathan Saunders. Saunders is a big, stay-at-home type, while Skinner has some upside as a No.4 or No.5 guy.

It is looking as if Bryan Little will not make the Thrashers. The AJC is reporting that Brett Sterling has a spot pretty much sewn up and the only other spot up for grabs is on the checking line.

Slava Kozlov has yet to play an exhibition game. He is suffering from a lower body injury.
