Brian Campbell has an amazing nine points in four games so far this season.

Dallas netminder Tobias Stephan had his first NHL start yesterday. He was two seconds away from a shutout, but ended up taking the OTL. He made 38 saves.

Jordan Leopold missed his second game with a hip injury, but will likely not miss anymore time.

Wojtek Wolski played on the first line last night with Sakic and Brunette and the trio clicked with some big points. Wolski is a streaky player to begin with, and this news is certainly adding fuel to that fire. Expect big numbers for at least the next week.

Milan Hejduk has six points in his last three games.

Jonathan Cheechoo is still looking for his first point of the season.

Dan McGillis has signed to play in the German League.

Kukla's Korner is reporting that the Sens are interested in signing Randy Robitaille. If they bring him in, he will be used in much the same manner that Mike Comrie was used last season and a point every two games sounds about right.

Marcel Hossa has an assist in each of the three games that he has played for the Rangers.

In the DobberHockey experts league, I have dropped Paul Mara and replaced him with Bryan Berard. It is still early in the season – anyone can certainly win, as evidenced by my falling from second to 10th in a single day.

Brett Sterling was reunited with his AHL buddy Darren Haydar last night and the two combined for three points. Sterling's ice time was still just over 11 minutes. Perhaps all he needs is to feel comfortable, and this is the way to do it.

Marian Hossa is still targeting Tuesday for a return from his groin injury.

Nashville goaltender Chris Mason has given up 15 goals in his last three games (all losses), but his save percentage has been .939, .905 and .875 in those games, which suggests that he isn't entirely to blame nor is he slipping up. The team has crumbled defensively and coach Barry Trotz will certainly fix that in a hurry.

Georges Laraque missed last night's contest with a sore groin.

Marc-Andre Fleury, coming on in relief of Dany Sabourin – who was hurt, but is okay now – played a solid game in Pittsburgh's win. He's finally starting to control his rebounds and you should see his numbers start to settle down now.

The Boston Globe is reporting a trade rumor of Jovanovski to the Rangers for Mara and other assets. This would be what Mara owners need to get some points out of him, as he has already picked up big points in Phoenix.

Yanic Perreault sat out the last half of the game last night with a charley horse. No word on if he will miss further time.

Chicago's top line last night was Lang with Williams and Bourque.

Martin Havlat, unofficially, will not require surgery on his shoulder and may be back within a month. I wouldn't touch him with a 10-foot pole, myself.

Rob Schremp played 10:42 and was a minus-1 last night. Craig MacTavish says the lineup could be a revolving door this year, with kids who do well in the AHL getting called up and kids who struggle in the NHL getting sent down.

The shift charts are still not back on NHL.com. Let's keep the emails rolling! I can give you a lot more information in my daily ramblings if the shift charts were back – and you can find out a lot of info yourself.  Visit this page and then click "contact us" at the bottom. Tell them that you need the shift charts back and why. Already, dozens of readers have done this, but we need all the help we can get. LINK

Bought the Pool Guide? Here is a one-page supplemental sheet to give you the update (updated to October 7, 2007).
