Ryane Clowe has a knee injury and has been placed on injured reserve. There is no given timetable for a return. Devin Setoguchi has been recalled – and bears watching.

Steve McCarthy, Pascal Dupuis and Brett Sterling were healthy scratches for Atlanta last night. Mcarthy and Dupuis were obvious… Sterling, was a little lesson. Nothing more. He'll be fine. the other two I wouldn't touch 10-foot pole.

Darren Haydar finally saw some time on the top line last night with Kovalchuk and Little. The AHL scoring star is only useful on the top line – I don't know why they would put him anywhere else. At any rate, he makes a decent roto-league pickup for the time being, and has some potential to be valuable in other formats, but wait and see.

You saw this one coming – Sergei Samsonov was a healthy scratch last night. I took a chance on him in one of my pools. Oops. Just drop the bum.

Boston star Patrice Bergeron was driven hard into the boards on Saturday and was carried off on a stretcher Saturday and things looked bad – without hearing more, I would guess that he is out for a few weeks – it was… quite bad to see.

How much gold is Pascal Leclaire becoming? Just 17 shots faced, but another win. Hitchcock is making this team into a Dallas clone and they're really buying into it.

Ray Whitney broke out of his slump with a four-point effort last night.

Erik Cole returned from his foot injury in a big way with a three-point effort. He was also a plus-4.

Jamie Langenbrunner, who is recovering from hernia surgery, is skating, but is still at least two weeks away from a return.

Karel Rachunek left last night's contest after tweaking his groin. He is day to day.

Chris Clark could return to the Washington lineup as early as Monday. He had a lot of stitches putting his ear back together, but did not sustain a concussion.

Alexander Semin left last night's contest after re-injuring is ankle. This injury will bother him throughout the first half of the season, is my feeling. He just signed a two year contract extension worth $9.2 million.

Tyler Kennedy played the first game of his NHL career last night. He did not see any PP time. He replaced Gary Roberts in the lineup, who was out with a virus.

Jaroslav Spacek will return to the Buffalo lineup Thursday.

Ryane Clowe left Saturday's contest with a leg injury.

Dan Ellis stopped 24 of 27 shots last night as he continues to make a bid to steal the No.1 job from Chris Mason. I still think Mason is the guy, but he should be benched in your league for the time being.

Mike Ribeiro has six points in his last three games, and 10 in seven on the season.

Michal Handzus has one point in his last 11 games. He is not being used in offensive situations at all, like he was in Chicago during his brief stint there. It looks like he's back to his 55-point ways this season, and there will not be the offensive breakout that I pegged for him in LA.

Since his healthy scratch, Ladislav Nagy has five points in four games and is a plus-6.

Goalie Niklas Backstrom has a groin injury and will not start today. It is 'not serious', and he is expected back soon. He's not the only Wild player with a groin injury – both Pavol Demitra and Marian Gaborik have groin injuries and will miss today's contest. His history of groin problems should have Gaborik owners concerned.

Sam Gagner played his 10th game last night, kickstarting his entry-level contract and likely keeping him in the NHL for good.

My team in the DobberHockey expert league really needs to pick it up in the goalie categories… but it's hard to do that when they don't start. Both Turco and Mason sat last night. Today, Theodore sits while Budaj gets the start.

Ryan Getzlaf's injured wrist feels better and he hopes to be back in the lineup for tonight's game. He will be a gametime decision.

Antoine Vermette was back in the Ottawa lineup after missing one game with back spasms.

Jason LaBarbera has started – and won – four straight contests for the Kings, facing a lot of shots in the process. He is starting to walk away with the No.1 job there.

The Blues have waived winger Mike Johnson.
