I heard from a second source that Shannon is on the shelf for a month. Also, the 'Nucks are mulling over recalling Jannick Hansen.

The Canucks have sent Mason Raymond to the Manitoba Moose. He just wasn't producing. This would be the time for them to recall Ryan Shannon… but I am hearing that Shannon hurt his knee and is out for several weeks – that is unconfirmed, however.

I had reported that Aebischer will get the start tonight for the Coyotes. That of course is not likely considering he is in the minors. I had Aebischer on the mind… a brain fart, if you will. I apologize. I of course meant Mikael Tellqvist. (Where the hell did I get Aebischer from? Yikes)

Andrew Ladd's ankle is not improving and he will remain on the shelf for at least another week.

Shea Weber's knee injury is still two to three weeks away from letting him return to the lineup.

Gary Roberts, who missed last game with respiratory problems, was worried for awhile there, but the infection has cleared and he expects to be back in the lineup tonight. He practiced on a line with Armstrong and Talbot. He has apparently been fighting the illness since training camp.

Dany Sabourin will get the start tonight for the Pens.

Dan Boyle returned to the Tampa lineup last night for his first game of the season. He will be eased in, as indicated by his 11 minutes or so of ice time. Paul Ranger, whose ice time will be reduced (eventually), was still up over 28 minutes. In two or three games, Boyle will be back over the 20-minute mark while Ranger will slip back to 19-22 minutes.

Phoenix has recalled Josh Gratton from his conditioning stint. He will be back in the lineup so if your league counts PIMs, have at'er.

The Coyotes will go with Mikael Tellqvist between the pipes tonight.

The Panthers sent down Anthony Stewart. He was only getting six minutes of ice time per game in the NHL and they want him to see more ice.

Devin Setoguchi played most of last night's contest on the third line, but it wasn't until midway through the third period where he got a couple of shifts with Joe Thornton. He also, not coincidentally, got a couple of goals around that time. Now is a good time to take a chance on some short term production from the rookie. He also makes a great pickup in keeper leagues.

The Boston Herald is reporting that Bergeron will be out for at least two weeks, but possibly as long as a month. In the meantime, Phil Kessel has been practicing on the second line, which is a great opportunity for him to start putting up some big points.

Erik Johnson is back skating a full practice and is ready to return to the St.Louis lineup. He has two points in two career games and will be a big producer again when he returns.

Dallas Drake and Johan Franzen will return to the Detroit lineup tonight. Matt Ellis and Aaron Downey will be scratched to make room. Nik Kronwall will remain on the shelf with his groin injury. While we're on the topic of Detroit, Hasek as I mentioned in a recent ramblings, is targeting Nov.7 for a return.

Vancouver grinder Jeff Cowan is ready to return to the lineup.

Demitra, Gaborik and Backstrom will remain out of the Minnesota lineup tonight.

Dan Fritsche has three points in three games since returning from his healthy scratch.

The Blue Jackets play back to back games on Wed/Thu. Leclaire will start the first one, Norrena the second one.

Freddie Modin's groin injury has reportedly healed 'completely' and he will be back in the lineup on Wednesday.

The Leafs are the only team to allow more than 50 goals this season.
