Sean Avery will be out for 10-14 days after undergoing arthoscopic wrist surgery tomorrow.

The Jackets placed Jiri Novotny on injured reserve with his concussion. This allowed them to recall Tomas Popperle, who can now back up Norrena tomorrow.

Braydon Coburn has signed a two year extension worth $2.6 million.

Sergei Gonchar's groin injury kept him out of practice yesterday. The Pens are off until Friday, so don't give up hope on him yet.

Apparently, Kris Letang has migraine problems and has had them since he was 12. It is rarely an issue with his hockey career, but he almost didn't play last game.

Kris Draper sprained his knee in the first period last night, leaving the game and not returning.

The Sens recalled Nick Foligno and sent down Alexander Nikulin, who disappointed by going minus-2 with very limited ice time. Patrick Eaves will be out until Christmas with a shoulder injury.

Ray Emery will get the start tonight.

Daniel Alfredsson (groin) was in practice and will probably be in the lineup tonight.

Jere Lehtinen will undergo sports hernia surgery and will be gone until the end of January or possibly the start of February.

Ryan Callahan is optimistic that he will be back in the lineup tomorrow.

Roloson will get the start tonight for Edmonton.

Souray (shoulder) is still at least two weeks away from a return.

Ethan Moreau (foot) is still four weeks away from returning.

Raffi Torres is pointless in 14 games and is a minus-6.

Peter Budaj will get the start for the Avs tonight.

Ian Laperriere is targeting next week for his return to the lineup.

The Ducks have placed Mark Mowers on waivers. Brian Sutherby's arrival has made him expendable.

Carolina winger Scott Walker (rib cartilage) will be back in the lineup tonight and will play with Whitney and Cullen.

Alexei Ponikarovsky (leg) and Jiri Tlusty (ankle) were out of the Toronto lineup last night. They are both day to day.

Karel Rachunek has missed the last three games for personal reasons (the birth of his son). He'll be back in the lineup tonight.

Patrick Elias (flu) will also be back tonight.

Pavol Demitra will be back in the lineup tonight and will take Eric Belanger's spot on the top line with Gaborik and Parrish.

Pascal Leclaire, who injured his hamstring Monday, is hoping to be back by the weekend. Norrena will get the start tomorrow. Leclaire owners be wary – he is very fragile and if he is coming back from this injury too soon it could be trouble. Knowing his history, if I'm GM of the Jackets, I hold him out a few extra days just to be safe. Dobber for GM!

Apparently, Duvie Westcott may have suffered a concussion in Saturday's game. It would be his third in 2007, which would probably put his career in question.

Kris Beech (hand) has been cleared to play.

Jiri Novotny is doubtful with a shoulder injury.

Florida's Brett McLean has a cast on his right hand and is not going to be back in the lineup until Christmas.

Mike Van Ryn will try and avoid surgery and take cortisone shots on his wrist. He will miss the next 10 days while he sees if that does the trick. If it does, he'll be back at that point. If it doesn't, it will mean surgery in which case his entire season would be in jeopardy.

Milan Lucic is probable for tomorrow's contest against Florida.

Manny Fernandez is hoping to get through practice today. If all goes well, he could be the backup goalie by next week.

With Jason Williams (groin), Martin Havlat (shoulder) and Patrick Sharp (flu) back in the lineup tonight, the 'Hawks sent Petri Kontiola and Kris Versteeg down to Rockford. Havlat will play with Lang and Williams, Sharp will play with Toews and Kane.

Tuomo Ruutu is pointless in seven games and is a minus-5.

Alexander Frolov will miss today's contest with his groin injury. It will be the third straight game, but he is day to day.

Scott Hartnell got two games for his hit on Andrew Alberts.

Kimmo Timonen did not skate yesterday and he is questionable for tonight's game against Carolina. He left Monday's game with a "lower body injury".

Ryan Craig will be out for a month with a knee injury. This isn't his first serious knee injury of the past year, making him a certified Band-Aid boy.
