Atlanta has picked up Mark Recchi off of waivers. He is still a very serviceable fantasy player in my books, but if preseason projections had him at 70 points with Pittsburgh, it would be more like 60 in Atlanta. Sixty, prorated over the 50-odd games that are left is 32 or 33 points, so I think he'll end up with about 42 at the end of the season. In his first few games, though, look for a big impact of a point per game – then trade him after three games.

Bryan Smolinski will be out the Habs lineup tonight with a knee injury.

Darcy Tucker missed Thursday's contest with a back injury, and he is doubtful for the Saturday and Monday games as well.

Mike York was back in the lineup last night.

Zbynek Michalek broke his stick while helping thwart a Sharks scoring attempt in the first period. Had he dropped the stick, he would have been fine, but he was called for interference when he threw the stick handle at the puck, which was being controlled by his brother, San Jose left wing Milan Michalek.

David Legwand has signed a six-year contract extension worth $27 million. He would have been a UFA in the summer.

Both Mark Parrish and Kurtis Foster were back in the lineup for Minnesota last night.

Teams have until noon today to claim Recchi off of re-entry waivers.

The Pens recalled Ty Conklin from the AHL to back up Sabourin. Fleury has an ankle sprain, and is out day to day.

Alexander Semin has played five straight games and has two points in his last three. He may be coming around now and I think you can finally trust his ankle. Time to activate him.

Florida center Garth Murray has a dislocated shoulder that may require surgery. He will be out until at least February.

Looks like I was wrong in my guess that Auld was brought in to share the starts in Boston. Rask will start his second straight game tonight.
