Sidney Crosby has been placed on injured reserve. The swelling in his ankle is still too much for proper evaluation, so doctors will look at it tomorrow now. Be prepared for any news ranging from three weeks to 12 weeks, but my money is on that two to eight range.

Adam Hall was also placed on the IR due to a groin injury suffered Saturday.

Defenseman Jaroslav Spacek practiced fully Sunday and likely will play today. Forwards Tim Connolly and Maxim Afinogenov again stayed off the ice to rest their groin injuries.

Dan Boyle could be back in the lineup this week.

Filip Kuba has one point in 17 games.

Brad Richards has just nine points in his last 16 games – two of them goals.

Patrick Lalime has started four straight games for Chicago and coach Savard will continue to play the hot hand.

Radek Bonk took a puck to the arm Saturday and missed much of that game, as well as practice yesterday. He is questionable for tonight's game against the Blues.

Daniel Alfredsson expects to play tomorrow, as well as in the All Star game.

Radim Vrbata is doubtful to play tonight. He is still suffering from a groin injury.

Shawn Matthias' two goals and successful NHL run has rocketed up my fantasy prospects list. He sat at 119 because he looked to be several years off. Keep in mind that he plays a power game and those players tend to take several years before reaching their potential. Still, he's further along than I thought.

Within the next 10 days or so, the Panthers hope to have Peltonen, Stumpel and Murphy back in the lineup.

Mikko Koivu has two points and five shots on goal in four games since returning from his broken leg.

Drew Miller was sent to the minors to make room for George Parros, who was activated off the IR.

Ryan Getzlaf is on a 14-game point streak, the longest streak for the Ducks since 1996.

Boston GM Peter Chiarelli says that he is impressed with how prospect Carl Soderberg's game has progressed in the SEL and that he expects Sodersberg to compete for a spot in the fall. He is ranked 110 on my fantasy prospects list, but will move up a little with the news.

Although he and Rick Nash assisted on Freddie Modin's goal last night, Derrick Brassard actually played most of the night with Glencross and Boll. He saw time on the top PP unit though and played just over 10 minutes.

Peter Schaefer returned after missing two games with the flu but played just 7:07 last night.

Because of the injury to Colby Armstrong (hip), the Pens recalled Jonathan Filewich. He was a preseason Dobber darkhorse favorite but could not have performed more poorly – both in training camp, and then in the AHL since then. Maybe he'll step it up with this undeserved recall. Tim Brent was also recalled, because Tyler Kennedy (illness) is questionable.
