Facing the threat of going three-straight games without a goal for the first time this year, AO decides to make up for it by scoring four in one.

At least two games. That is how long Kovalchuk is on the shelf, according to TSN. He "likely won't" miss substantial time.

Forsberg informed Modo of the SEL that he will not be signing with them, as he intends to return to the NHL.

Ilya Kovalchuk was the recipient of a knee on knee hit from Jarkko Ruutu last night. He left the game, returned in the second period, but could not continue and left the game a second time. The injury looks serious, but we won't know how serious until today.

Brandon Bochenski played just 9:38 last night – six minutes at even strength – and still managed to be a minus-1. He'll be in the press box when Selanne debuts likely Friday.

The Ducks also placed Maxim Kondratiev on waivers.

Carolina placed Jeff Hamilton on waivers.

Chicago assigned Kris Versteeg and Dave Bolland to Rockford. Bolland has recovered from his broken finger.

Dustin Byfuglien was a healthy scratch last night.

Martin St. Pierre did not impress. I always rant about how skilled, small AHL stars do not get a fair NHL chance. This is an example of one getting that chance. St. Pierre played much of the game with Havlat and Kane. He played 15:42 and 3:20 on the PP and was pointless and a minus-1. He will be lucky to ever get a chance like that again. If he forges an NHL career, it will be done by taking advantage of far less of an opportunity than that one.

Jonathan Toews will skate with the team today. He is targeting February 13 for a return to the lineup, according to the Tribune. Jason Williams (hernia surgery) is also targeting that date.

Columbus recalled Gilbert Brule already. He had just eight points in 12 games for Syracuse. He is No.2 on my top fantasy prospects list.

Jozef Stumpel was back in the lineup for Florida. Anthony Stewart was assigned to Rochester as a result.

The flu held Olli Jokinen to just 6:18 last night. He wasn't even going to dress for the game.

Henrik Zetterberg was back in the lineup for Detroit.

Colby Armstrong missed last night's contest again with an illness.

David Legwand is expected back in the Nashville lineup tonight. That will cut into Radulov's ice time, as Radulov was given a ton of it during his absence.

Mike Zigomanis cleared waivers and was assigned to San Antonio. Bill Thomas was also sent down.

The Blues sent Steve Wagner to Peoria and recalled Mike Glumac.

The Leafs recalled Ben Ondrus, because Chad Kilger is out due to personal reasons.

The Canucks recalled Mike Brown, Luc Bourdon and Jason Jaffray.
