Nik Kronwall will be out for the next week to 10 days with a shoulder injury. He is, of course, a certified Band-Aid Boy, so if you own him you expected this to happen.

Jose Theodore is suffering from back spasms that will keep him on the shelf for the next little while. Petr Budaj will log the starts until then. Tyler Weiman has been recalled.

Freddie Modin missed last night's contest with a groin injury. That tends to happen when you miss much of the start of the season. Without a training camp to get in shape, groins are often pulled.

Lakie Erie of the AHL has signed Jamie Lundmark.

Atlanta has recalled Brett Sterling again, who will play in Kovalchuk's spot while the star is on the shelf. As you know, I'm a Sterling fan so keep an eye on this situation.

Mathieu Schneider has an arm injury and may not play tonight for the Ducks. The Ducks, incidentally, play the Blues tonight. Weight and McDonald are players to watch.

Marco Sturm missed last night's game with the flu.

There is a line that is really clicking for the Bruins right now – Milan Lucic (five points in three games, Plus-4), Chuck Kobasew (four in three, eight in his last six), and Glen Metropolit (three in his last two). Lucic and Kobasew make great temporary pickups – Lucic will even give you big PIMs.

Vojtek Polak, the No.81 fantasy prospect on my list, has gone back to the Czech Republic.

Jere Lehtinen will be back tonight playing with Jokinen and Modano. Lundqvist will be a healthy scratch.

The Sens recalled Josh Hennessey. He played 7:41 and did not se any PP time. He is ranked 63rd on my fantasy prospects list.

Sami Salo is out with a groin injury.

Brendan Morrison had the cast removed from his wrist and hopes to be back before the end of February.

JP Dumont continues his surge, getting points in 16-straight games. He's never had a three-point game during the streak, but is consistently putting up ones and twos. He is on pace for his first 70-point year. He won't make it, but…he is 29 years old and in the heart of his prime, maybe he is truly breaking out this time. He has me thinking, that's for sure. And regretting (a little) taking Jason Arnott over him in my trade earlier this week. I could have had Dumont instead…

Alexander Radulov has seven points in his last five games – six of them are goals. His plus-13 is second on the team… but according to Trotz he needs to work on his defense (tongue in cheek statement).

The Carolina Hurricanes placed Jeff Hamilton on waivers Wednesday, but he played Thursday night.
Hamilton skated in place of Matt Cullen, who missed Thursday's game because of vision troubles, on a line with Cory Stillman and Andrew Ladd.

Nik Antropov will receive an automatic three-game suspension. He was in the penalty box when Carolina scored the winning goal and he slammed his stick in frustration before throwing it in the direction of the refs.

Antropov's OT penalty. You be the judge…
