Corey Perry's injury will keep him on the shelf for six weeks. Bobby Ryan has been recalled, but i would hold off jumping on that. With Selanne's arrival, I am not sure if Ryan will get the prominent role that he received earlier in the season. Watch for a game or two.
Aaron Voros ran Eric Staal head first into the boards. It looked serious but Staal did not miss a shift. Expect a suspension for Voros. Hi-light of the hit below.
Corey Perry suffered a laceration on his leg just above his knee and left game, going to the hospital for stitches. He should be considered day to day until we hear more.
Bryan McCabe had four points in Toronto's 8-2 win last night and has six in his last three games. Toronto are good bets to win every game going forward unless they play a defensive specialist such as New Jersey. Start betting on them because they will win their way to ninth place and fall just short of a playoff spot, yet manage to hurt their draft position as much as possible.
Daniel Briere was back in the lineup last night, catching poolies off guard. He played 19:21 and scored a goal.
Sergei Zubov will not return until the postseason or, best-case scenario, the last game of the season. He had a screw inserted in his foot two weeks ago.
Philippe Boucher will be out for this weekend, but the Dallas Morning News did not know what the diagnosis on his shoulder is as of yet.
The Sabres sent Clarke MacArthur to Rochester.
Jordan Leopold was a healthy scratch last night.
Erik Ersberg stopped 40 shots for his first NHL win – a 2-0 shutout. With Labarbera out and Cloutier being Cloutier, Ersberg has earned some more starts.
Ryan Shannon may be on the third line in Vancouver, but he is on the top power-play unit and he scored another goal last night. He has nine points in 10 games and is a plus-7 in that span.
Carey Price has won four of five since taking over as starter.
Craig Anderson got another start for Florida and has won four straight. I think the Panthers are going to keep throwing him out there.
Stephen Weiss has eight points in his last seven contests.
Radek Dvorak was back in the lineup last night after missing 15 games with a broken finger. He played 14:18.
Cory Murphy played just 8:26 last night. He is being used strictly for PP now.
Noah Welch is targeting Wednesday for his return to the Florida lineup. At which point, Murphy will probably be the odd man out.
