Brendan Morrison is returning to the Canucks tonight after missing considerable time with a wrist injury. Expect him to slot in at some point with Mason Raymond and Ryan Shannon.

Matt Niskanen is probable for Thursday's game. He has been battling a sore foot.

PM Bouchard's Spin-o-rama: check it out at the end of the ramblings.

Daniel Carcillo is back skating and he is probable for Tuesday's game.

Daniel Alfredsson, who has missed three games due to back spasms, will see doctors today and hopes to try skating afterward.  He is "feeling much better" and is questionable for tomorrow's contest.

Zdeno Chara's shoulder injury will keep him out of Tuesday's game, but the Bruins do not think he will be out long. Chara is not injury prone, so assume he will be back by the weekend – but be cautious because the B's are being too quiet about the details.

Bobby Ryan was put on the fourth line last night, with Sutherby and May. Looks like they'll bring him along slowly for this season.

Buffalo rearguard Nathan Paetsch suffered leg contusions Saturday and is questionable for the game tonight. He did not skate Sunday and neither did Bernier, Ryan, or Connolly. Henrik Tallinder did skate – he won't go today but may go Wednesday.

Forsberg missed last night's contest with a groin injury. You didn't think he'd go all year, did you? If so, I have a player named Havlat that I want to trade you.

Ruslan Salei and Jordan Leopold each left yesterday's contest. Salei left after a fight with Steve Ott. He suffered an eye injury and will miss at least one game, possibly many if there was a fracture. Leopold was hit into the boards by Ott and left feeling a little woozy. With Adam Foote out with a hip injury, the Avs have a new set of problems now.

Ben Eager missed yesterday's contest with a separated shoulder and will be out for a couple of weeks.

Grabovski was in the lineup yesterday because Plekanec had the flu. Grabovski played on the big line and notched an assist.

Andrew Cogliano, Sam Gagner and Robert Nilsson each picked up a pair of points to lead the team to a 6-5 overtime win over the Blackhawks. Cogliano has nine points in his last seven games, Gagner has 21 in his last 21, and Nilsson has 10 in his last 10. All three have the potential to produce at a-point-per-game pace and are showing it.

Eric Belanger is out with a broken foot. His loss meant that James Sheppard played 16 minutes yesterday. Sheppard still saw no PP time, but with the added ice he should start producing better.

Nick Lidstrom was back in the lineup and it did not impact Kronwall's ice time a whole lot. Both players picked up two points.

Tomas Holmstrom missed yesterday's game with that groin injury he sustained Friday in practice.

Brandon Bochenski got into his first game for Nashville, seeing time with Arnott and Dumont. He mostly played with Hlavac and Nichol though and played 9:24 and saw little on the PP.
