2008-03-24

Sidney Crosby has ruled himself out of tonight's game against the Isles. I think that it's safe to say that he won't play tomorrow night either.

Chris Kelly has a hairline fracture in his leg. Best-case scenario would have miss just three games of the postseason, but missing the entire first round is more likely.

"School of Block" will be on hiatus for this week and next, as Justin Goldman puts DOBBER NATION together.

Gary Roberts has stopped skating. The post-gazette is reporting that he stumbled while skating last week and may have re-injured his ankle.

We won't know until after the morning skate whether Crosby will be back in the lineup for sure.

Nathan Paetsch (concussion) has been cleared to play.

Ville Peltonen is out of the Florida lineup with a foot injury, so expect Jozef Stumpel to finally get back into the lineup. Stumpel has been ready for a week now, but the Panthers haven't wanted to disrupt their lineup.

Eric Belanger will return to the Wild lineup either tonight or Wednesday. When he returns, expect Mark Parrish to be scratched. Parrish has been scratched three of the past eight contests.

Danny Cleary is expected to return to the Detroit lineup Tuesday. He has missed 19 games with a broken jaw.

Peter Forsberg will be in the lineup for the Avs tonight.

Cam Barker has missed the last two contests with a slight concussion. He was close to playing Sunday, according to the Chicago Daily Herald.

David Vyborny is expected back from his knee injury Tuesday for the Jackets.

Kris Russell (groin) should also be back Tuesday.

Martin Rucinsky missed last night's contest with a sore back.

Sergei Zubov will not play for the Stars tomorrow, but he is getting closer and we may see him by the weekend.

Jeff Carter has 10 points in 11 games since the trade deadline. Had Tomas Kaberle waived his no-trade clause, Carter and a first rounder would be in a Leaf uniform for those 11 games.

Jeff Carter: 127 points in 219 games. Mike Richards: 136 points in 205 games. Mike Richards signed for 12 years, $69 million. Carter will want at least $5 million per season this summer. Look for the Leafs to offer a contract sheet for $6 million. Could the Flyers match that? Not without some fancy tap dancing. Just a Dobber hunch.

Scott Gomez is still questionable for tomorrow. I will update you tomorrow morning when I hear more.

Yesterday marked the debut of The Dobotomy "en francais". Thanks goes to Jerome Tetreault for the translation. Jerome will also be translating the DobberHockey guides so they will be available in French.
