David Krejci has seven points in three games without Mark Savard.

The Bruins signed undrafted UFA Jeff Penner to a two-year entrayl level deal. The 20-year-old, undersized rearguard has some offensive upside, but will never get into the lineup over Matt Lashoff. Expect him to start in Providence next year.

Vinny Prospal missed yesterday's contest because of the flu.

The Leafs signed undrafted UFA Kyle Rogers to a two-year entry level contract. The 23-year-old right wing is a hulking power forward who could be a third liner in the NHL some day soon, but will never see 40 points and his PIM totals will likely never hit triple digits. Likely a career minor leaguer.

Rookies Anton Stralman and Jiri Tlusty each scored twice for the Leafs yesterday. The two of them, Kulemin, Pogge and maybe Williams make up the only prospects worth anticipating from a fantasy perspective. If they keep winning, they won't get Filatov either. With Andrew Raycroft apparently starting Tuesday, a loss is probably in the cards – which is a good thing for Leaf fans. Not so good for me, as I will be at that game against Buffalo.

The Edmonton Journal is reporting that Mathieu Garon's sprained ankle will keep him out of the lineup for at least another week.

Pencil Sergei Zubov into Thursday's lineup.

Not fantasy related, but Tim Taylor retired from the NHL yesterday. He is from my hometown of Stratford, Ontario. Lived just a few blocks from me, actually.

Henrik Lundqvist is 8-2-2 in his last 12 games and boasts a 1.82 GAA in that span heading into today.

Marian Hossa is in the lineup today.

Mike Smith was the backup Saturday night, so his knee is fine. He will get the start Monday, barring a setback.

One big thing I missed yesterday morning was the Saku Koivu injury. He may havea broken bone in his foot which would sideline him for as long as four weeks. The club is staying mum on the subject.

Mark Streit suffered a similar injury and has similar question marks. That is all I can find on him.
