ABOUT THE DOBBER NATION HOSTS
by Justin Goldman

Dobber Nation is hosted by yours truly, JG, who writes School of Block for DobberHockey and is the founder of The Hockey Guild here in Colorado. My co-host is the show’s producer, Evan Tramontano (TRAH-MON-TAHH-NO), one of The Hockey Guild’s most distinguished members. For us both, it’s an honor and a privilege to act as hosts of this internet radio show. While we are not the fantasy hockey gurus that you would expect to hear on a quality site such as Dobberhockey.com, our knowledge of the game is impressive for a couple of US-born goaltenders.

I am a member of the PHWA as mainly a Colorado Avalanche reporter for the last five years, but I have also covered the Central Hockey League’s Colorado Eagles since their inception in 2003. My area of strength, however, has always been goaltending – including the players, the position and the psychology. I have been playing the position competitively for 15 years (ACHA D-II for CSU Rams) and coach at the youth level. I have been playing fantasy hockey competitively for 10 years strictly through The Hockey News pools to start and Yahoo! Fantasy Hockey for the last five years. I was unaware of Dobber’s site until last year, as well as keeper leagues, which seems very intense and competitive, so I anticipate starting out in a league next year.

Evan’s world is that of the Buffalo Sabres and the Colorado Avalanche. He currently is in school for radio production, but honestly he’s already on his way to mastery status, as he also produces our weekly radio show “Gross Misconduct” on Mile High Sports. He was a goaltender for the Jr. Pioneers for close to a decade and also played for an ACHA-DII team, the UNC Bears.

We are proud to be a part of this endeavor and we look forward to not only discussing great hockey topics and informing our listeners, but learning about the game from very knowledgable columnists, guests and friends of Dobber. LET THE GAMES BEGIN!

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz. The duo wrap up with some hot and cold streak deep dives, including discussion of the Red Wings crazy powerplay success in the last ten games, whether Erik Gustafsson is rosterable or an overperforming illusion, Fantilli’s continued success, Merilainen as Hamburglar 2.0, and whether Schenn’s success and Neighbours’ lack thereof are likely to continue.
