TSN is reporting that the Canucks are close to signing Fabian Brunnstrom. Other teams in the mix (my opinion only): Detroit, Toronto, Ottawa, Boston. Brunnstrom will likely debut with 50-60 points for a couple of years before he starts rattling off 70 points a year. Do not overrate his upside because one columnist mentioned his name with Daniel Alfredsson. That is only a rough gauge, not an exact science. You can read/add to the forum discussion on this – found right here .

With Binghamton eliminated from playoff competition, the Sens will likely recall Ilya Zubov, Alexander Nikulin and Lawrence Nycholat.

Whoa – apparently Patrick Thoresen's lower body injury was from taking an Ovechkin shot in the family jewels. Word is that the doctors were considering removing a testicle. In the end, they decided against that – and Thoresen may still play today! I tell ya – it would be lights out for this guy. I'd be done for the year haha!

Derian Hatcher expects to be ready and play in Game 3 for Philly.

With RJ Umberger on the fourth line, his ice time dwindled to 12:22.

Zach Parise took a stick in the chops Friday that knocked out two teeth. He had some dental work done yesterday, but will not miss today's game of course.

Saku Koivu is still not playing in the playoffs. The Habs are sitting him out as long as they can – they keep winning, so he will keep resting his foot.

Mikhail Grabovski was a healthy scratch.

Boston actually made Phil Kessel a healthy scratch in favor of Vladimir Sobotka yesterday. Sobotka, ranked 27th in my fantasy prospects list, played just 9:44

📢 advertisement:

Dennis Wideman was also scratched in favor of Andrew Alberts. Wideman also is troubled by a groin injury.

Corey Perry skated yesterday, but his muscle is giving him too much pain.

Doug Weight was back in the lineup. Ryan Carter and Bobby Ryan remained in the lineup. Brian Sutherby was scratched.

Jason Spezza's undisclosed injury, which caused him to miss a bit of time Friday, shouldn't prevent him from playing tomorrow.

Rumor: Peter Laviollette will be fired by Carolina and then hired by Atlanta. Discuss.

Mark Santorelli, 95th on my fantasy prospects list and the WHL leading scorer for this year, has signed a three-year entry-level contract with the Preds. He will join his brother Mike (ranked 126) in the AHL for at least a year.
