Dobber Sports

2008-04-28

Sergei Zubov played 16:19 in his return to the ice last night, notching an assist on the winning goal.

Patrick Marleau was pointless and a minus-2 last night, starting to iron out his playoff reputation a little more.

Fabian Brunnstrom reminds Boston GM Peter Chiarelli of a Holmstrom-Alffy hybrid. The 6'2, 200 pound Brunnstrom is reportedly considering 15 teams. My picks are still Toronto, Boston, Vancouver, Ottawa and I'll now add Montreal to the list, and Detroit – in that order. Expect 50-55 points in his NHL debut next season, but this would depend on his team and his line.

Paul Gaustad underwent sports hernia surgery last week and will need three months to recover. He will be fine for training camp.

Peter Forsberg and Scott Hannan are both questionable for tomorrow's contest.

Despite being pulled from the last two games, Theodore will get the start.

Bob Hartley is reportedly a candidate to coach the Sens. He would drag scoring down a little, compared to Murray and/or Paddock.

Saturdays and Sundays are often by far the slowest traffic days at DobberHockey (although I usually save my best ramblings/content for those days – just to reward the hardest of hardcore fantasy fans!), but this Saturday that just went by marked my return to the site from my vacation and I had lots to comment on/report. To read past ramblings, just click the "next" button below, or to just go directly to the Saturday ramblings CLICK HERE . By the way – Monday is the best traffic, so that is why I'm posting this little note.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – The Wilkes-Jarry Penguins

Elizabeth and Lewis are back to take listeners through a host of power play changes that are giving managers the opportunity to get exposure to great players off the waiver wire, including Philly, Jersey, and Tampa talk. They also cover Jarry’s AHL demotion, Cooley’s ascension to the top-line and powerplay, and injuries to Tavares and Hintz. The duo wrap up with some hot and cold streak deep dives, including discussion of the Red Wings crazy powerplay success in the last ten games, whether Erik Gustafsson is rosterable or an overperforming illusion, Fantilli’s continued success, Merilainen as Hamburglar 2.0, and whether Schenn’s success and Neighbours’ lack thereof are likely to continue.
