Larry Brooks asked Jaromir Jagr if this was the end, if he was going to Omsk or retiring. Jagr said "Larry, if I knew this was the end, why would I care so much?"
Suddenly realizing that he did not play enough hockey over the past eight months, Teemu Selanne has joined Team Finland at the Worlds.
Matt Beleskey, ranked 149 on my Fantasy Prospects List, has signed a three-year entry-level deal with the Ducks.
Toronto prospect Dale Mitchell signed an amateur tryout contract with the Marlies.
Stu Barnes missed last night's contest with a head injury. Toby Peterson got into the lineup.
The Chicago Wolves have released center Angelo Esposito from his Amateur Tryout Contact. He was pointless in one regular season AHL game and has not played in the playoffs.
Brett Sterling and Bryan Little have just two points each in six playoff games for the Wolves, while I'm looking at their team I thought I would point that out.
The Rocky Mountain News will only say that Paul Stastny is "unlikely" to play tonight. TSN says that Stastny's knee injury takes him out for the season.
Joe Sakic evaded questions about tonight being his last NHL game. He figures they will win tonight, so the question is moot. That said, I put it at 10% that he retires this summer.
Ryan Smyth (foot) is doubtful.
Max Talbot reportedly has a broken foot. Team officials would not comment, but it sounds like his foot is broken from blocking a shot last game.
