Big Phoenix cuts: Nick Ross and Jared Staal have been sent back to junior.
Atlanta cuts (no big names): Tomas Pospisil, Myles Stoesz, Matt Siddall, Chris Carrozzi, Danick Paquette, Paul Postma, Scott Marchesi and Matt Anderson.
Boston cut: Max Sauve has been returned to junior, he was drafted 47th overall this past summer.
Carolina cuts: Justin McCrae, Samuel Morneau, Chris Terry (notable), Michal Jordan and Mike Murphy.
Dallas cuts: Tyler Bekorowany, Luke Gazdic, Sergei Korostin (notable), Colton Sceviour and Guillaume Monast.
Per TSN: Sergei Gonchar is out indefinitely with a separated shoulder. With him and Ryan Whitney now both injured, Kris Letang has a huge opportunity to put up a ton of points. This also makes room for Alex Goligoski to make the team.
Big Cuts Tampa Bay: Riku Helenius, Wyatt Smith, Radek Smolenak, Paul Szczechura, Dana Tyrell, Ty Wishart.
San Jose cuts (no big names): Rick Cleaver, Julien Demers, PJ Fenton, Matt Fornataro, TJ Fox, Sam Groulx, Matt Jones, Frazer mcLaren, Timo Pielmeier, Ashton Rome, Tyson Sexsmith, Brett Westgarth, Jon Bonneau, Adam Leblanc, Zach Harnden, Matt Pistilli, Tyler Shattock, Mathieu Tousignant.
St. Louis cuts (no big names): Nicholas Drazenovic, TJ Fast, Tomas Kana, Nikolai Lemtyugov, Eric Neilson, Cam Paddock, Grant Potulny, Ryan Reaves, Julian Talbot, Anthony Peluso, Mark Cundari and Jake Allen.
BIG Ottawa Cuts: Ryan Shannon, Josh Hennessy, Ilya Zubov, Alexander Nikulin, Mattias Karlsson, Jeff Glass and Dany Bois have all been cut. Barring an injury to the big club this season (and it will probably take two of them), it's time to give up on Shannon. Sometimes these small guys need some luck, and he didn't have much of it.
Chicago Cuts: Adam Berti, Dan Bertram, Nathan Davis, Adam Hobson, Peter MacArthur, Mike Radja, Michael Brenna, Danny Groulx, JC Sawyer, Brennan Turner, Joseph Fallon, Richard Greenop, Maxime Tanguay, Shawn Lalonde, Teigan Zahn, Josh Unice and Olivier Labelle. The notables on this list were Berti, Bertram, Tanguay and Unice.
Players who will miss tonight's game because of a tender groin: Sidney Crosby, PIT, and Alexei Kovalev, MTL.
Tobias Enstrom re-signed with Atlanta today. He extended his contract for four years, starting in 09-10.
Nate Gerbe scored a beautiful goal for the Sabres yesterday and could be a dark horse to make the roster. He is pint-sized (5'5''), but has a skill level that is off the charts.
Erik Christensen injured his shoulder yesterday. The extent of the injury is unknown, but will likely be weeks and not days.
Gilbert Brule played 14:50 last night and Ryan Potulny played 13:43. They played on a line together with Geoff Paukovich.
Steve Bernier played with Pavol Demitra and Cody Hodgson last night. Henrik Sedin played with Grabner and Hansen, while Daniel sat out. Grabner scored a goal, while Hansen was arguably the most impressive Canuck forward.
Dustin Boyd picked up two points last night and impressed Keenan. Boyd is on a two-way contract when the team has 13 forwards on one-way deals.
The Bertuzzi, Iginla and Backlund line were a combined minus-6 last night. That does not bode well for Backlund, who will return to Sweden for the season if he does not make the team.
Alex Pietrangelo had a pair of assists for the Blues last night. He should make the team, especially with Erik Johnson done for most of the year.
The line on the new-look Stars last night: Barch 24 PIMs, Avery 18 PIMs, Ott 9 PIMs – this will be a great PIM team this season!
Fabian Brunnstrom played 15:41 and saw 3:53 on the power play. He played with Lundqvist and Eriksson on the PP, but with Peterson and Landon (?) Wilson at even strength.
Brassard played with Voracek and Chimera last night and the line combined on a goal.
Igor Makarov made a promising debut last night, chipping in an assist on a Sharp PP goal. He only saw PP time with Sharp and Kane, otherwise he was lined up with Versteeg and Brophey. He's in tough to make this team, but if so he'll produce.
Steven Stamkos scored his first preseason goal last night. He played with Malone and Vrbata.
Paul Stastny was back on the ice yesterday, his bruised shoulder having healed.
Wojtek Wolski will be out for a week or so with a foot injury.
The Ducks signed Max Macenauer and defenseman Eric Regan to three-year entry-level deals. Macenauer is ranked 235 on my prospects list.
Barry Tallackson (NJ) will take the next few weeks off as he was diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat.
Wade Belak has a shoulder injury that will shelf him for 2-4 weeks.
The Tennessean is reporting that Mike Santorelli has the full attention of coach Barry Trotz. He has been producing in scrimmages and scored last night against Atlanta.
Jason Arnott left practice early after tweaking his groin. It was reportedly nothing major.
The Pens have been using Sidney Crosby as a penalty killer – good news for owners in leagues with SH categories.

Sergei Gonchar's shoulder is still too swollen to do further testing. That can't be good. Expect Gonchar to miss at least a few more weeks. We should get official word by late today or tomorrow.
Bruce Boudreau has pencilled in Tomas Fleischmann to play with Nylander and Chris Clark on opening night. He added about six pounds of muscle over the summer.
Nicklas Backstrom was back in practice yesterday, his ankle fully healed.
