The Fantasy Guide and Draft List are updated to this very second.

Tyler Kennedy scored twice for the Penguins today, netting the first goal as well as the game winner. He will be bumped down to the third line once Petr Sykora returns, though.

The Rangers second line of Dawes-Dubinsky-Zherdev was very impressive against Tampa Bay today. Keep an eye on this one…

Chris Bourque is going to make it very tough for the Capitals to cut him. Look for either him or Eric Fehr to be on the way out sooner rather than later, as both would have to clear waivers to go down to the AHL.

The Hurricanes have signed Zack Boychuck to an entry-level deal. He is probably going to see a few games in the regular season before being sent back to the WHL.

Pascal Leclaire sprained his ankle in the second period yesterday. He finished the period, but may miss some time.

RJ Umberger took a slash to the hand in the third – apparently just a bruise, but he left the game.

Derick Brassard has been on the shelf for a week with a "neck strain". He has yet to skate – and given his headaches and nausea there are some concerns about a concussion.

The Dispatch also reports that Jared Boll had an ice bag on his hand.

Nikita Filatov did not play as the team eases him into the lineup. He will play against Toronto – in Toronto – on Sunday.

Andy Hilbert, Mike Comrie and Brett Skinner were the top power-play minute munchers for the Isles last night. Defenseman Chris Lee also played over three minutes, paired with Skinner on the back end. Lee was a plus-3 with a goal and two PIMs. Jack Hillen did not dress last night.

Give d-man Anssi Salmela another 21-minute game. Only Paul Martin saw more ice for the Devils. Salmela had an assist and was a minus-2. I think he'll stick and I think he'll have an impact. Sleeper.

So far so good for Brendan Morrison – three assists last night on Selanne's hat trick. There is a lot of potential here and most people rate him a 50-point player.

Ryan Jones has been staying with Jason Arnott during training camp. The two were in the home with Arnott's family when at 3:30am the house caught on fire (started at an outdoor cooking area on the second story – sounds like a nice house!). Nobody was hurt and damage is said to be around $100K.

The Wings signed goalie Thomas McCollum to a three-year entry-level contract. He won't be in the NHL for years.

Andrew Hutchinson played so badly that not only is TB willing to pay him to not play in the NHL, but they signed Jamie Heward to replace him on the Lightning! Talk about blowing your big shot!

According to the Gazette, Max Pacioretty will play tonight for the Habs and will then likely be sent to Hamilton tomorrow. If so, he will be the first callup similar to Sergei Kostitsyn a year ago.

Keeping Karlsson Short Shifts – Thanks for Vejmelkmories

Elizabeth and Lewis reunite to bring you all the latest fantasy news and strategy, such as how our siblings would fare if called on to fill our roles like Owen Sillinger did for bro Cole. Then it’s onto news including coverage of the postponed CGY/LAK game and defensive injuries piling up in MIN and putting some strain on Gustavsson’s performance. Injuries and outjuries include a pair of goalies returning to their teams in Ingram and Shesterkin, as well as how Monahan’s wrist injury opens the door for big minutes for Fantilli. Finally, the pair touch on Voronkov and PLD’s hot streaks, and discuss John Carlson’s rollercoaster in light of Chychrun’s production.

Keeping Karlsson: Tuch Hunch

On this edition of the Keeping Karlsson Fantasy Hockey Podcast mega-show, Elan and Brian tour every team, ranking a slate of the least bad goalies, noticing the wind in some Red Wings’ and Stars’ sails, dangling snoozer status above a pair of commonly rostered power-play quarterbacks, and rushing or strolling, accordingly, to some skaters on the up and up.
