Fantasy Guide is updated to this morning.

The Sharks have released Jeff Friesen from his tryout.

The Top 200 Fantasy Prospects list has been updated.

Manny Malhotra has been placed on IR. Columbus has recalled Niki- I mean – Derek Dorsett. Don't worry, Filatov will be next in line for sure.

Thanks to Yardie in the forum for diggin this up out of one of the LA Times Blogs: The Ducks recalled Leneveu because of the salary cap dance. They want to put Brad Larsen on the long-term injury list and they are then allowed to over the cap by his salary amount – minus the amount they were under the cap. By recalling Leneveu temporarily, the pulled to within $26K of the cap, thereby minimizing what is subtracted.

Despite an amazing training camp, Dustin Boyd was sent to the AHL yesterday. His two-way contract did him in in the end. He will be the first recall.

With Bobby Ryan in the minors, the Ducks have moved Kunitz down to the Morrison, Selanne line and Travis Moen up to play with Getzlaf and Perry. This line will last all of one game, maybe two. Ryan will be back as long as soon as the cap allows it. meanwhile, look for Ryan Carter to get a shot in that spot. He is better suited than Moen is.

Chicago's Ben Eager has been suspended for three games for swinging his stick at Sean Avery.

Patrick O'Sullivan feels he will be ready to play on the weekend, but the coach is not so sure. It will be announced on Saturday. If he is good to go, I am sure Oscar Moller will be sent down to Junior Hockey.

The Ducks recalled David LeNeveu yesterday. I could not dig up why, so there may be an undisclosed injury to Jonas Hiller or JS Giguere.

Brad Marchand, who is currently playing for Providence, has a broken cheekbone.

The Bruins have cut Vladimir Sobotka. With Petteri Nokelainen back from injury, Sobotka had to go.

Boston prospect Zach Hamill had surgery on his thumb and will be out for 4-6 weeks. Hamill is ranked 61 on my Fantasy prospects list, Sobotka is rated 37

The Islanders claimed Nate Thompson off the waiver wire. He was the captain under Scott Gordon in the AHL last year, so they will be reunited. To make room for this, the Isles cut Brett Skinner, who had previously made the team.

Looks like Dallas changed their mind on a player, sending Chris Conner down to the minors and calling James Neal back up. You'll see that happening all year with these two I'm sure.

The Stars have recalled Mark Fistric after placing Zubov on the IR.

Interesting precedent here: Chicago claimed Doug Janik off of waivers from Dallas, then traded him back to Dallas for a conditional draft pick. I don't know why all teams don't try that!

Zubov will not return until November. I had him pegged to return around October 20. Keep that in mind in the Guide, remove another five games or so.

Although you may see both Stephen Weiss and David Booth on the injury list, both players plan to play this weekend.

Jonas Junland (shoulder), DJ King (wrist) and Dan Hinote (leg) are all on the shelf for St. Louis.
