The Preds have acquired Hugh Jessiman from the Rangers for futures, and Tim Ramholt from the Flyers for Josh Gratton. not of fantasy significance. Huge Specimen is pointless in six AHL contests, so this clean slate will be nice for him – perhaps he could turn his career back around. I'll keep an eye on him in Milwaukee.

Pekka Rinne will get his second start of the season tonight. Ellis will be backup, apparently he could use the extra rest.

The Sens have signed Alffy to a four-year, $21.6 million contract extension.

Breaking news: Zach Bogosian has a fractured fibula and will be out until mid-December.

Pittsburgh has moved Malkin back to center on the second line for tonight's contest. He will play with Cooke and Sykora. If you have daily lineup changes, Matt Cooke is worth a one-game flyer. Crosby is stuck with that guy in Row 4, Seat 12 on his left wing, and the drunk guy in the upper seats on his right wing. Well, not really, but that would be an upgrade to Fedotenko and Dupuis, who Therrien keeps insisting should play in the top six. This hangs Satan out to dry a bit. Jordan Staal will center Satan and Kennedy.

Brendan Shanahan has finally given up waiting for the Rangers. He will sign elsewhere, and probably soon.

Phoenix line combos: Jokinen with Doan and Fedoruk; Hanzal with Mueller and Carcillo; Reinprecht with Porter and Boedker; Turris with Winnik and Tikhonov.

Steve Reinprecht was apparently not injured – he has just been scratched for the last two games.

Ilya Bryzgalov will get the start tonight for Phoenix. He has been working with Grant Fuhr and has taken the last two games off. Not sure if starting against Crosby and Malkin is the way to break out of slumps…

Paul Gaustad will make his season debut tonight. He had thumb surgery a month ago. He has been advised not to fight for a few weeks.

Tim Connolly is targetting early next week for a return. He is a point per game player…he's just not more than a 60-game player.

Atlanta line combos: Christensen with Williams and Kovalchuk; Little with White and Kozlov. Reasoner with Thorburn and Armstrong; Slater with Perrin and Sterling or Boulton.

Zach Bogosian (leg) will miss at least the next two games.

Dan Ellis is playing through injury, but he will get the start tonight. Probably.

Trade Deadline note – the deadline has been changed from March 3 to March 4, to accommodate a lighter schedule. So it will be a Wednesday this year.

It turns out that Sergei Zubov is ineligible to play Saturday. According to NHL rules, if a player is placed on long-term injured list, he must miss at least 10 games or 24 days. He won't be back until November 7 now.

Andrew Raycroft will get the start tonight.

Getzlaf had five assists last night, while Selanne snapped out of his slump with a hat trick. He has scored in three straight games.

Roman Hamrlik has a foot injury and may not play tonight.

Alexander Vasyunov has left the KHL and signed with the Devils. He will play in Lowell but is arguably the team's best offensive prospect so he could be called up with strong play. He is ranked 77th on my fantasy prospects list, but rockets up with this news.

The Rangers have sent Lauri Korpikoski to the AHL.

Mikhail Grabovski was a minus-2 last night and saw little time on the PP. He needs to produce more to stay in the good books.

Matt Stajan picked up three more points playing on that top line. He is a great temporary pick up – until he comes off that line.

Andy Greene is a must-own defenseman. He had three more assists last night and has filled the void left by Salmela's demotion as a PP specialist. He is the new PP QB – DobberHockey had him pegged to do this last season, but better late than never.

Matt Halischuk had an assist in his first NHL game last night. He is ranked 83rd on my fantasy prospects list, but moves up a little as he shows that he is close to NHL ready.
