CONTEST ALERT! Last week, Carolina led the Caps 2-1 with three minutes to play. Alexander Semin scored twice to win the game, becoming the first player in nine years to score the game-tying and game-winning goal in the final three minutes of the third period in one game. Name the last player to perform the [...]

The Fantasy Hockey Stock Market

Two weeks ago I debuted the Fantasy Hockey Stock Market, where you get the lowdown on what players are out there who are undervalued (i.e. guys to buy low), as well as players who are overvalued (i.e. guys to sell high). After a typical slow start, Roberto Luongo was put on the block in many fantasy leagues, as people were worried about the Canucks and Roberto in particular. Since then, he has four shutouts in five games and three straight, and the Canucks defence is back to being one of the league’s best. Hopefully you paid attention to the first article and sent out an offer to try and pry Luongo away from an impatient owner. Chris Drury has been on fire since that time as well, potting a hat trick and a few multi-point games along the way.

Are you an active fantasy baseball player who has strong writing skills and would like to join Dobber's team? Flip me an email !  Evgeni Nabokov did not dress for last night's game with a lower body injury. He will not play today. Meanwhile, Brian Boucher won his third game in three tries. He has allowed [...]

Angus here with some afternoon updates. Pavol Demitra has been skating on his own and is slated to resume practicing on Monday. Look for him to return against Colorado on Wednesday. Ryane Clowe has been on fire lately and is being rewarded for it. He is due for a breakout season, and this could be it. Just [...]

A Roto-Look Ahead – Week 6

weekes

As Brodeur's injury shakes the fantasy world, it is interesting to look at the New Jersey Devils schedule for that time period. If you assume he would be back to play on March 1 the Devils will have 50 games to play without counting the games he missed up until November 7. It is an even split with 25 home games and 25 road games. During that stretch they have 11 back-to-back games.

Angus here. Matt Carle has been dealt to Philadelphia for Steve Downie and Steve Eminger. Great news for Carle, not so good for the two going to Tampa Bay. Someone needs to tell the Lightning management that this isn't their NHL 2009 dynasty. Live in Canada? Sorry, you can't go to the NHL Winter Classic this season. [...]

It’s Miller’s Time

 Miller

I want to start off this week by talking about a player that I don’t think gets enough recognition in fantasy circles. Ryan Miller has seven wins in nine games, including two shutouts. His 1.62 goals-against-average leads the league and his 0.942 save percentage is second only to the never say die guy, Tim Thomas.
